I would suppose that reacting in a non-programmed manner would be a start. Insects are almost impossible to teach in the sense that it is possible to teach a dog to do tricks (and are literally spineless fools should they become too bothersome).

Well spotted!

In my experience, many mathematicians do occasionally refer to "n^4" as "n tesseracted", in a jokey sort of way. I've certainly done it before.

Other mathematicians go in the opposite direction - if they can't give a special name to every member of an infinite list, they don't bother to give a special name to any of them. For example, these mathematicians might just say "n to the 2" instead of "n squared", and in extreme cases they have been known to refer to a square as a "2-cube". I'm pretty sure I once heard someone refer to a line segment as a "1-cube", but madness lies in that direction.

No, because the following analogous statement can be used:

If it rains, then the ground is wet.

But its converse, which is the following statement, would be false:

If the ground is wet, then it is raining.

The ground can be wet for many reasons, so the statement does not hold for all cases.

There is a term used to describe that type of situation. :chin: I remember learning about it in Geometry last year, but I've completely forgotten.
