Another not very pleasant dream tonight. I dreamt I was in the military, and apparently not voluntarily. Some kind of really clichee drill sergeant basically ordered me to shoot at innocent civilians, and I refused. We had an argument about shooting at innocents and I said again and again that I will never do it.
Two friends were there too, but they were just sitting at a table making jokes and being in a surprisingly good mood.
Weird, this is the third dream about killing innocents that I can remember from relatively recent times (this year).

be glad it wasn't a real drill. they can be pretty rude.

more fragments of remembered dream, i was back in the late 80s sometime in a record store [remember those?] and i got into a conversation with another record store patron, as we heard some late 80s hit on the store sound system, i wondered aloud what the present-day hits would sound like if musically couched in a 60s beatles or elvis idiom. the other fella looked at me like i was crazy. :alien:

I dreamt my partner was angry because I was "flirting with men on WP". I denied flirting with anyone. For evidence he produced a clear Perspex box with a flip lid. Inside were files, much like the old recipe card files. There was a long strip of card on the left (colour coded) with member's names and profiles. They then corresponded with a larger card (in alphabetical order) on which was written everything I've ever put on WP. I was quite astonished at the detail. He told me they were all my "boyfriends". I said, "some of those are female." I started pulling out the profile cards of the female members but there turned out to be a very small number compared with the males.

Then I had a weird montage of self harming, which I will keep to myself.

Then I was with my partner at some kind of outdoor expo. I went to use the toilet and it turned out there were no cubicals - just a narrow room with toilets down one side and showers down the other. I sat down (on a toilet) and kind of spaced out. When I came back to reality, I saw there was a man having a shower right in front of me, with soap running down his buttocks. He then turned around around and asked me if I could turn on the tap beside me. I turned it on and he gave me oddly sexual feedback, "Yeah! Yeah! A bit more! That's good!"
I saw he was drinking out of a trough which I'm pretty sure was the urinal. Then I saw there were two other men in there. The one furthest from me was my partner. He was looking at me with disgust.

gee, i'm sorry Raleigh, i can't come up with anything much beyond definitions of the symbology in your dream. i can only SWAG that you are finding that the men in your life shower you [per the symbology of your dream] with the wrong kind of attention, and that your partner is not helpful.
Bathroom
To dream that you are in the bathroom, relates to your instinctual urges. You may be experiencing some burdens/feelings and need to "relieve yourself". Alternatively, a bathroom symbolizes purification and self-renewal. You need to cleanse yourself, both emotionally and psychologically. To dream that you are in a public restroom with no stalls or that there are a lot of people around while you are trying to do your business signifies your frustrations about getting enough privacy. You are always putting others ahead of your own needs. As a result, you are lacking a sense of personal space. Alternatively, the dream indicates that you are having difficulties letting go of old emotions. You are afraid that if you reveal these feelings, then others around you will judge and criticize you. If you dream that you are in a bathroom meant for the opposite sex, then it suggests that you are overstepping your boundaries. You have crossed the line in some situation.
Shower
To dream that you in a shower with someone suggests that there is something that you need to "come clean" or confess to this person. It is time to be honest. Perhaps the dream is telling you that you need to let down your guard. If you are showering with a group of people, then it means that you are feeling exposed. You feel that your sense of privacy is being invaded.
Toilet
To see a toilet in your dream symbolizes a release of emotions. You need to get rid of something in your life that is useless. Seeing a toilet in your dream may also be a physical manifestation brought about by a full bladder. The dream is attempting to get you up and to the bathroom.
File
To dream that you are filing away your bills or other important documents signifies of unfavorable events which will be a source of much anxiety. To see files in your dream symbolize your responsibilities and burdens. There is something important that that you need to tend to.
Urinal
To see a urinal in your dream signifies disorder in your personal relationships. To see urine in your dream represents the feelings you have rejected or suppressed in waking life but are popping up in your dreams.
Buttocks
To see buttocks in your dream represent your instincts and urges. It may also indicate feelings of insecurity and reveals your struggles with some situation.
Soap
To see soap in your dream indicates that you need to wash away some of your past emotions or memories. You may also be feeling emotionally dirty or guilty and are trying to wash away the shame. Perhaps you need to confess something. Something you value is being washed down the drain.

^ Thankyou.
You're right about men giving me attention in a negative way.
I was reading through the thread about the transgender student given permission to use the locker room yesterday. I wonder if that triggered the dream? It seemed mostly gender related - even the self-harming part kind of tied in with that whole theme.
Wish I hadn't had it.

prego :) I wish I had not had certain things in my life also, but I realize they are there for a reason, to teach me something I need to know.

That was a rather intense dream.

Violation of privacy (both of your own, and of others) appears to be the theme. And it mentions WP.

Might be symbolic of how folks on social websites like this can end up both emotionally "exposing" themselves, and seeing others expose themselves in ways you dont IRL.

Nothing wrong with that usually. But you can get emotional about internet aquaintences of the opposite sex. and that can complicate your life IRL.

The dream could be a cautionary tale.

I honestly don't think of men on WP as the opposite sex.
They seem like the same sex as me, whatever that is?? neutral?? so I don't know if how I interact could be seen as flirting.
Now I'm wondering if I'm giving out an impression that's not intended.
See, I'm going all paranoid now.
Damn dumbass dream

not a "dumbassed dream" but one that is trying to tell you something important. don't know what kind of vibes you give out in real life with real people in your corner of the world. only you can figure that out.

Your posts do not come off as flirtatious as far as Ive seen.
So I wouldnt worry about that.

My above post I am sure has more to do with me than with you (am a single guy, and sometimes do get fascinated by certain female WP members as objects of attraction). In fact I still havent recovered from a girl WP person breaking off our internet pen pal relationship some years ago ( though she lived in another country on another continent so I couldnt very well take her out on casual dates anyway).

But as AB said: an intense dream like that is probably trying to tell you something.

especially if it repeats itself in various guises. such dreams will recur until the lesson is learned in waking life.
