I don't think that it's going to snow in my area this winter.

This happened to me until I deactivated my account and purged the information. Somehow, a little of it remains, but it is dormant.

In my area, we always talk about the minutes it snowed within the last decade and snowy places in the mountains. We tend to doubt anyone saying that there will be snow. I wish there would be at least some snow, because that would be a nice change.

Phosphocellulose anybody? I want to find some acid and try the reaction or some Nitric Acid and make some Nitrocellulose.

Phosphocellulose is a bit more obscure. From memory, the best way to make nitrocellulose is to get cotton and and soak it with fifteen or fourteen times its weight of a sulfuric acid-nitric acid blend. After a few (2? 3?) minutes, one would wash it with cold and dried at temperatures under body temperature (which is 37°C or 99°F*). If you do not keep the resulting nitrocellulose at low temperatures, it will decompose and possibly explode. Make sure you start with small amounts (on the order of a few grams) because nitrocellulose is very sensitive. Also, make sure you review laboratory procedures before making nitrocellulose.

* 98.6°F is used because it is what one gets from converting 37°C to °F. Because of significant figures, the correct temperature is 99°F, not 98.6°F.

That can't be good. Water expands when freezing, and freezing rain freezes on impact.

So, basically, if one were out in that 'weather' one would be pummeled with millions of tiny chunks of ice? Well, that is perfectly Ghastley!...Sylkat. :?

....Same here.

Anyway. I've had another fantastic weekend with MONKEY (we went to the Natural History Museum in London again) and I am currently on a bit of an emotional downer from it all as I have work tomorrow and I miss her like crazy already.

So I will say goodnight to all.

........The weekends go so quickly.

Today's WTF Amazon find: Cthulhurotica. "The first title from independent publisher Dagan Books, Cthulhurotica is an exciting new anthology of erotic horror, inspired by the writing of H. P. Lovecraft."

Pardon me for being vain
My looks have gone right to my brain
Since I've quit spiking and colouring my hair
I look better, so there. :D
