Dear Rabbitears, Isn't that one of the oldest museums in the world? Didn't They finance famous expeditions back in the 1700's or 1800's? I hope you two had a wonderful time there..what was the most impressive exhibit? Sylkat :D

Dear Jory, That publishing company should spell its name Dagon. In addition, HPL was quite asexual, aside from that brief marriage to Hazel...He would NEVER countenance something even suggestive, much less clearly erotic. Sylkat, who was reading HPL over 20 years ago.

There's a scene in What's Eating Gilbert Grape when Johnny Depp finds his mother asleep on the couch with the TV turned on. He goes over to the TV and turns it off, and she instantly wakes up and says, "What are you doing?!"

This is how I view NTs. Not only do they not mind constant loud noise and clatter in the background, they need it like a fish needs water. My parents chat away loudly on the phone while the TV blares in the background, and when I walk over and mute it, they get an annoyed expression on their face and turn it back up. Wrong planet, indeed.

Dear Jory, I think what you are talking about is 'White Noise'...some people actually do not register sounds that are constantly around them, but they notice when the sound is gone, and they feel the lack of it..very odd, but it is a fact! Sylkat 8O

I can't believe how long it takes to cook, eat and wash dishes. No wonder so many young people order takeout.

Aspie moment: For a few seconds I was thinking, "He cooks and eats his dishes?" :?

Oh thank God I finally made it to the end of this thread. I hate getting behind in this thread because it moves so fast sometimes.

Luckily I don't have a cough. Just the sniffles.

Hope you get better soon.
:) Thank you. You are such a great guy Rabbitears. I hope that your sniffles have gone away and you are not getting sick either. I know alot of people are now unfortunately.

They do say, "Silence is deafening," but the context is different, I should think.

Still not as severe as thinking, "He eats, 'andvash dishes?!'" I still get confused by final comma emissions because only newspapers were supposed to do that and I don't read those kinds of periodicals.

The sky is pitch black. It's hard to believe that it was still light around this time, three months ago.

In hindsight, a conversation I vaguely remember as mentioning, "...can't understand social ???...??? expressions..." was probably about my condition. I wonder if I should work on hiding my AS so no more discuss it or displaying it so everyone knows and no one needs to discuss it and generally make me nervous.

I know... Winters are strange to me - the gradually darkness until Winter Solstice. I don't care for it because it limits the amount of time I have to go out and take care of things or go shopping around here. I don't like to go out after dark here where I live now. I use to go out in the middle of the night in Tucson to go grocery shopping because it was so quiet and there were hardly any people there to get in my way. Now I have to do it when everyone is there and rushing around everywhere, I hate crowded and noisey stores or any place really.

Speaking of noise here comes the firetrucks. :| I think they are going to the other apartments across the street and not the apartment building complex that I live in, for a change.

It seems like everytime there is a fire here in this complex they send four or sometimes five big firetrucks but they don't ever use them, they use one and gradually they start leaving. I wonder why they do that? One would think they would be wasting a lot of fuel and manhours doing things like that.

To Taupey:

I remember that one night in Late August when I thought that I wasn't going to be safe walking home from the clubhouse after supper. I saw two cop cars and three ambulances and a bunch of cops and firefighters standing around. I was sure safe that evening.

Local news ad:

Isn't it usually the other way around?
