I'm ready for a nice, warm bed.

 The strongest desire to create art or just something of beauty often comes from mourning and bereavement. Nothing else could give me enough of an inspiration close to my feelings to write an elegiac in the last few months, and only a few days after my loss, I have one that is not too strained or forced from the normal prosody of spoken, casual English after only a brief review of the rules of scansion for elegiac meter. I should try to feel more starting now. Perhaps, feelings will be stronger than even the neural fiat held now.

Hmmm, weird...I usually create drawings when I am happy....songs come from when I am sad.

What happened? If you need someone to talk to...shoot a pm.

Are you just not feeling creative? Try listening to music...I almost always write stuff after listening to other songs.
If you want to draw...depends on the type....if I want to draw something realistic, I look at the shadows and shapes of everything for inspiration and study them to the last speck and try to emulate it.

A death on the part of another species is what happened. She was already doing so well and was extremely athletic for her age (equivalent: 160-year old human running a marathon and winning or nearly winning against young adults).

However, what I find odd is that I am relatively creative when I am feeling plenty of emotion of any kind. I feel a strong desire to compose a counterpoint with the knowledge that I really have little skill in music and the knowledge that it is late. Art really seems to be an outlet. Perhaps I will draw something, but I still do not know what I should draw (especially at night). Maybe I will settle for another poem in a meter more conducive to musical accompaniment. Thank you for the ideas about drawing. I plan on taking a few sheets of paper and a wood pencil tomorrow. I might even upload it if I think it is of a decent quality.

[I apologize for the apparent incoherency of the reply, but it explains exactly why I try to feel less emotion. If there is any apparent sarcasm, it really is not sarcasm but the inhibited communication characteristic of you-know-what.]

I have a new hobby: printing off the chapter titles of books and crossing them off as I finish them. I started doing it because I have numerous books the chapters of which I read out of order – short story collections, nonfiction books about film, etc – and I wanted to keep track of what I had and hadn't read. But now I'm doing it even for novels that I read from start to finish, just so I'll have something to cross off. I've always had a hard-on for list-making, but this is getting silly. :)

Sounds like a dog or maybe a cat.

I'm sorry, the only pet I had was a gerbil when I was 7. (wow, that'd be crazy, I've run a marathon before, and  that would be a sight to see...though I did see a handful of old people running)

Nice...creativity strikes half when I have emotion, and half when I'm incredibly bored. It's either or though...no middle ground.

Hahahhaha :P Go for it! It doesn't matter if you have no knowledge of music as long as you have talent.

Hmm, drawing.

Well...
Categories I know:
*people
*random objects
*cars
*scenery
*abstract
*cartoons

Also depends on if you like making things simple or precise and if you like copying this or making things from your head.
I think I have some drawings that I have posted on wp, I can link you to them if you'd like :)

It's fine...it's 2:30 am here....not much is bothering me so I let things flooooooooow

A rodent of the phodopus genus, to be precise.

I will make it a goal to sketch the school pavilion no matter how much I want to do other things. Even if I have to stay on campus after school to complete the drawing, I will have a sketch.

As for music, it could be something I will do while bored during the student government period. It is really hard to fail that class, but someone from six years ago apparently tried.... 8O

As for the precision of drawing, I desperately want to do precise drawings but realize that any face, whether human or animal, that gets included falls all the way to the bottom of the Uncanny Valley. For now, I will stick to just making a basic sketch.

Thanks for the advice on starting a more balanced life. :) I feel a bit reassured about how I will start (but it is too late for any good art to be made at this point).

*googles*

Aw, that's a cute rodent, sorry.

Nice! I drew a church building once and drew my house as well. Twas fun :) Oh, that's the best to leave school later because you are working on a project.

Lol, I have to sing when I write the music. That might get distracting during class  Do you want to fail it?

So it is so like the picture that it doesn't work? I am confused. Try drawing objects precisely. I've managed it a few times. My skills are getting shabby so I doodle during sunday school. Okie doke, but details are fun once you really get into them.

You are welcome :) Well at least you are thinking about starting. :D Lol, good art can be made at any time of the day or night though. I've made most of my best work at night actually.

I didn't sleep last night.
I guess my brain found Tiny Tower to be more important.

Me neither...at least I have a 3 hour road-trip in an hour and a half.

Oh, I don't like road trips that last that long. I wouldn't mind being on a train for 3 hours, but not in a road vehicle.

Well, considering that my last road-trip was 18 hours...this shouldn't be toooooo horrible.

Plus it's just me an my dad, so I'll have the entire backseat to myself.

Now what would be cool (speaking of vehicles) would be on a bike for 3 hours! :P But that probably wouldn't get me to said location.

I look back at the things I did five years ago. I've got to focus on the present and the future.
