Good night!

I will have to make sure I remember at least a few of my dreams tonight. They might have some interesting (and ultimately idiotic) insights. After all, how can I die and still move around without being a stereotypical zombie?

i wonder whether radio reporters are really "at the scene" when they talk on the radio.

there was something on the radio today where the main newsreader said "and now we cross live to andrea who is at the scene". the andrea person said things that did not require her to be at the scene (about 1000 miles away from the studio), and there was no "first hand witness" element to what she was saying, so why bother sending her 1000 miles away to report what every one already knew.

another report was about a political occurrence (j.gillard reneging on her poker machine reduction promise), and on the radio, the reporter was live from canberra (although her home station that broadcast the report was in sydney).

it is similar to my wondering why they show on american TV, reporters standing outside the whitehouse at night or in the early morning to report some story that has nothing to do with the architecture of the whitehouse. i saw a los angeles news story where there was a female reporter talking in front of the whitehouse, and there was nothing going on in the background, but she had been flown all the way there to report the story. there was no need for her to be physically there.

i think i am missing some deeper element to the reality of people when i see things like that.

[Hmm, even online, the assumption that everyone knows exactly what I mean remains. Something must be done about that issue.]

By train of thought, what I meant was the presence of reporters in excellent-looking locations that have little to do with the topics being reported (and sometimes look like green-screen was used). Even before bothering to watch television, there was already a tendency to focus on the, "interesting," parts of any scene, i.e. the vegetation, weather, machines, et cetera, but not people. I have an odd feeling that it has something to do with AS, but right now, it is just a guess. The odder thing was a vague sense of missing something (not even the people, perhaps the emotional responses to what they said) that I thought you described. I could be projecting again, and it is likely that I am, but I hope this explains the response.

[Bird ejected from an engine? I do hope that it is either completely intact or completely charred, because if it is neither....]

the truth is that birds are much more important than engines. engines can be created by humans, but birds can not be made by humans.

it takes money to rebuild an engine, but all the money in the world can not build a bird.

Even with the scripts blocked (I've always blocked scripts from WP anyway, I have no reason to run them), I get a massive message reminding me I've blocked the scripts. Makes this place really irritating to navigate.

Time is running out. No, not the 2012 thing, there's no way I believe that, I mean something I've been meaning to do for years. I decided to give myself until February to do something, but still nothing, I just don't get why it's so hard.
