Thing is, no-one can please everyone, no matter how hard we try, how polite we try our best to be around others, how well we keep our manners, no matter how many chances we give people, there will always be people out there that get off on conflict and revel in the feeling that they are superior to others (or think they are anyway). If you try to be as inert as you can, and avoid all conflict when confronted with it, and try to keep a level head and a clear mind and be compliant with people, many will see this as a sign that you are weak, and they will try to impose their dominance upon you and trample you down into an empty shell of a person.
But for someone as emotionally sensitive and fragile as me, to keep fighting and fighting those who see me as weak will only wear me out, until I cannot fight anymore and become just as compliant and mousy as I was before, meaning they just step up the aggression and rudeness and basic disrespect more than ever, until I eventually vent my anger at them in another, more unhealthy way.
I suppose we all lose then.
I despise rude people. I just wish they would show a basic level of respect.
