Gah... people

I was listening to "Fade to Black" by Metallica on youtube, and noticed people complaining about people disliking the video >_>

People, the dislikes aren't for disliking one of the best metal songs ever... It's because there are crackles throughout the muffled sound quality, and even the picture with the hard to read moving lyrics for the song looks glitchy at times

It makes the people sound like brain-dead fan-boys, and makes it seem like they didn't even listen to or watch the video before getting pissy :?

I try to avoid YouTube comments and Ain't it Cool News Talkbacks. I find that roughly one brain cell is lost for every post I read.

The Lost World by Michael Crichton is a seriously great book. Just finished reading it. And I bought Jurassic Park yesterday, so I'm looking forward to reading that too, I know the order is all backwards but I was lent The Lost World first, so there.

I must say that the book is so much better than the film, so very different though. You can hardly even say the film is based off the book really.

Michael Crichton was one of THE best novelists...a brilliant man, really. I was just stunned when he died.

I'll admit that I've only read The Lost World by him so far, but Jurassic Park will soon follow.

There was just so much true and well thought out theorizing in The Lost World. He obviously did a lot of research and really knew his stuff. The whole thing was so clever and thought provoking and brought up some excellent ideas about extinction and evolution and biology in general. It was so much more than just a story.

Speaking of crazed fanboys, I have recently started getting into the previous generations of My Little Pony (since I already love Friendship is Magic), and I discovered that there is apparently a war among the collective My Little Pony franchise's fans involving Friendship is Magic vs. all the other generations. What I don't understand is, why can't people enjoy all the generations, as I have learned to do?

Friendship is Magic fans will often be quick to tell you that the previous generations' cartoons had no substance, and that the characters (including the regular toys) were all ugly/creepy. But I think that the previous generation's toys are cute, just in a different way than the Friendship is Magic toys are. It's kinda like how anime characters are cute in a different way than Adventure Time characters are.

I also watched a couple of episodes of the My Little Pony Tales cartoon, and I honestly didn't see that much of a difference between that and a typical episode of Friendship is Magic. Maybe it's because Lauren Faust isn't my idol like she is for so many other Friendship is Magic fans, so I'm not blinded to the fact that when all is said and done, it's all about a toy company selling rainbow ponies to little girls. (By the way, I'm not a hater - let me reiterate that I said I love My Little Pony in all its forms.)

The upcoming movie Brave looks very good. I've always thought the art and stuff looked cool, and when I saw the trailers, I was totally sold on it. I decided to change my avatar to reflect that, kind of - but of course there's a My Little Pony in there too, because I can't be a fan of anything without incorporating ponies into it.

I'm still looking forward to Dark Shadows, but I'm starting to doubt that it will be able to make its deadline since no official trailers or posters have been released yet and it's less than three months towards its release date.

I love your new avatar. What's the movie, Brave supposed to be about?

I'm doing what's right for me and only me. Mick Avory and The Kinks are right for me. They work for me. The things that are right for the rest of you members of my WP family - all the things that people my age group or younger are supposed to be into, don't work for me. I ramble on about myself to get many things off my chest. I'm different and we're all different. I've tried being more NT in the 90s when I was working at some factory. I've burned myself out doing that. What's right for one person, might not be right for somebody else. WP is a site for people on the Autistic Spectrum. Let's treat it as such.

I'm inclined to agree with you here. You made lot of sense which I can relate to.

Ooh the Dinosaurtoyblog looks a lot different now with it's updated layout. It'll take some getting used to though. It all looks mirrored.

Anyone been on this site?
