^^ Yaye, thankees for asking rabbitears. I believe that I shall happily visit the university and I believe a lovely man shall provide me and also additional possible PhD students with a magical tour. ^^ Also I believe that the friends shall decide if they wish to provide me with fundings for a PhD place.

You're lucky. It's cold where I am. Can I live with you?

I wish you could. It would be so awesome if we lived together! :D

Mind if I tag along?

Sure! I'd love it if the three of us lived together. :) We're best friends, so we'd make the best roommates.

Things I need to do to convert my 12 gauge "farm gun" into Dan's 18.5mm SRAMG (short ranged anti-materiel gun):

-affix bipod; just need to drill forearm to add sling swivel
-affix adjustable rear sight; front bead is good enough
-add weight to reduce recoil from 12 gauge slugs (bruising is when you know it's kicking too much)
-recoil pad (I'm not recoil shy, but again, see bruising)
-affix nylon sling
-give a coat of weather resistant grey paint (a couple of shades of grey would look pretty cool)
-shell holder on stock

Kinda like a mini-PTRD in appearance. Easily able to shoot through soft vehicles and cover within its effective range when using the right projectile (even soft lead Foster slugs do well on light stuff). Could easily make a fin stabilized steel dart in a discarding sabot for very good penetration (light armored vehicles would be in its domain), but that's not needed.

Fun.

Dear WrongPlanet, please make it easier for people to upload avatars.

Nothing, Joe was just trying to get the file size small enough to fit an avatar.

Huh yeah, that is a pain.
Try this: http://www.irfanview.com/ [ETA: get the plugins too, if they're not included automatically]
Open the image and, assuming it's already the right size, select "Save for Web". By fiddling about with jpeg/gif/png you can get some ridiculously small file sizes.

It looks a bit shabby (or minimalist, depending on your viewpoint) but it has some really effective image optimization stuff going on in it.
