I doubt lau being demodded had anything to do with the upsurge in drama, that's only a coincidence.

it's hard to adjust when there are a lot of new members, or someone you're used to reading posts by is gone.

i hope other people read this and realize that their contributions might be appreciated more than they know.

I have seen Willard do something similar in the past and then come back. I hope he does return to posting here. I enjoy reading his contributions.

Yes.

Also in that he has helped others with difficult problems, from greeting newb's to offerering a perspective to distraught married n/t mates , (with the exception of the last one).

I think if there were still mods, there wouldn't have been mor drama because they would have put a stop to it. This place has changed ever since May according to SBI. He told me things were more laid back now and it does look that way.

Adding my voice to the mix - I always found Willard's posts to be quite beneficial too.
I absolutely hope he returns. When it's time.

I did notice a few posts he either deleted or was asked to rethink (he edited them and replaced them with "...")

I believe that was just before he stopped posting.
I've also noticed a lot more new folk coming in lately (I might actually be considered one of them, but I lurked for a while before posting so up to you all to decide) so that theory is also viable.

I thought it was just a few too, but it was everything he was able to delete within the time constraints. I didn't see his post in The Haven right before he left. Maybe he has a family situation. Celtic Goddess posted that she needed to take care of her sick mother and then dropped out of sight. She returned briefly and then left again. Maybe it's something like that. But I'll stop speculating now.

Did he say anything about leaving, or any plans to take his own life?

Taking his own life definitely does not sound like Willard. I think he has pressing issues elsewhere or he's just burnt out and needs a break.

Indeed it seems more laid back until recently.

Maku on the other hand was a douche, me and him still have our drama's off the board unfortunately, I would of helped but he decided to attack me and not listen to any of my views, and I can't be arsed to go through crap all over again.

I guess things have cooled down since they were gone?

Regardless or what moderators there have there, there will always be at least a drama on the board.
Like the recent scam thread in the General Autism Discussion.

This is a bummer, I love reading Willard's comments. I didn't feel like returning after being harassed horribly by a certain member (who has a number of screen names here at WP) after I stated in a post/thread "I wouldn't be sending him any money so he could go see his so called dying girlfriend". So I can understand how he could possibly feel about putting up with crap on here sometimes. I hope he decides to come back and soon. That's tragic that he deleted his posts. That's like an artist burning his or her paintings.

I hope Willard does come back, as he was always one I enjoyed reading from. I can only hope he's in a good place mentally.

There have been many times, that I was almost driven away by the drama. There was even a time that I've posted very seldom, for about 5 months until I've realized that I needed this community, last October.

I miss Willard's presence too. I thought about PMing him, but was thinking perhaps he's just taking a break and doesn't want to be bothered. I know he really values WP. He was gone for a while last year but he came back.

Agree. Hope Willard returns.

incase this is in part a response to my post i was just musing about the difficulty of change (irrelevant to the topic, other than to say i am sad to see people go), not in any way criticizing new posters or suggesting new people might have played a part in willard's abrupt departure. i'm a relatively new poster myself.

i have trouble recognizing if something i say might inadvertently offend.

and taupey, i apologize for defending ferdinand awhile back (if you even recall). i understand his trolling very well now and it was an error in judgement on my part.

good riddance to all the drama. i hope it ends.

That's kind of you Katz. :) I don't purposely bother anyone here at WrongPlanet, I try to be nice and respectful to everyone. I hope he leaves me alone and that's the end of it too. :?
