been to 50 or so countries on all continents except antarctica. had arranged to go to antarctica but the universe said no.
good times, running across the ngorongoro crater, climbing ayers rock in 17 minutes, cycling alpe d'huez, climbing the step pyramid, helping at an elephant sanctuary in kenya, having rays and iguanas swim around me in a lagoon in the galapagos, cycling with a caravan in the gobi desert.
bad times, being arrested for running in the desert in morocco, stumbling into a slave market in sudan, being lost in the amazon (only 2 hours but seemed longer), assaulted in libya, assaulted in idaho, assaulted in china---sometimes, it's not fun to be on the spectrum. then there's learning the way non-human animals are treated by humans.
the traveling, marathoning and bike racing came to an end when i was murdered by a drunk driver. gone.
if you dream of traveling, do it now. do not wait. when i went to the great wall at badaling, i took the easy way and went with a tour group in a bus. i wanted to be fresh to do a lot of climbing. there were two couples on the bus who said they were too tired from the very rough ride to get off the bus and gave me their cameras to take pictures for them. the bus was only 250 yards or so from the wall. how f...ing sad is that. they were certainly in their 70's +/-. so trust me, go now. don't be me. don't be like those two couples.
