Oh...well...but......ok. Europeans and their descendants around the world usually don't like fish much (tactically not admitting being owned :P) :=

I have 3 french (native french) relatives who all hate fish and sea food to death.

All of my Australian relatives who were born there, including native brit Australians, hate fish and sea food.

Almost everyone loves fish and seafood here, it's a basic component of the Levant cuisine in fact.

Personally, fish and seafood is my favorite type of meat. I don't like red meat much.

I am back from my month long trip, but don't have time to post all the pictures yet. I will post a few now and a few later.

Popcorn cooked over a campfire, with cannola oil and sea salt. I made a contraption to cook the popcorn over the fire, from stuff I found laying around. Chicken wire as a frame to hold the pot, and a gaffer's hook to hold it over the flames.

Flame grilled spicy barbeque tofu.

Steamed vegetables. (We were staying at a friend of the family's place for this meal, so we have an electric stove to steam the veggies on).

I've never seen tofu look so appetizing! Textually, I like any protein products (including things like full-cooked veggies burgers) so be golden or just plain dark and crispy. I've never gotten tofu to look like that before. What exactly did you put on it?

The sauce consisted of a sweet and slightly tangy/spicy tomato salad dressing (I think it was California Dressing), tomato ketchup, a spicy mixed curry powder, lots of black pepper, cumin and a couple other spices, and lots of granulated garlic.

It was cooked on a metal grill/grate with flames hitting the tofu, for about ten to fifteen minutes, with one flipping part way along. When I flipped the pieces, I added the remaining sauce.

It was tied for the best tofu I have ever had. The other great tofu I've had is my sister's oven-baked barbeque tofu. I need to get her recipe for it!

Yummy! Thanks! I am going to try that next time we have a BBQ. I don't know if they sell California dressing around here, but I will try to buy or make a similar substitute.

I just e-mailed her about it! :P She hasn't been eating soy for several years now, so hopefully she still remembers how she used to make it.

Thick and yummy split-pea vegetable soup with lots of spices; steamed cauliflower; greens picked from the garden, before salad dressing is added.

The next few photos are from a month ago, before I left on my trip.
