No, I've always hated the name I was christened, my entire life it felt like I was being insulted when it was used, and I've always felt very reluctant to respond to it, it doesn't feel like me. It was such a relief when I started going online that I could pick a username that defined me!!
Some years ago I added another first name to my name so I had something to call myself and be referred to that didn't make me feel nauseous when I said it and when people would call me by name.
Just the same, I still identify so much more with being Skilpadde.
