Yeah, this happens to me too! NT's are supposed to have such great social skills, yet they can't even comment on something like that, when it seems rude to pretend there's nothing different. I dyed my hair a bright red once; quite a change from my usual blonde color. When I walked into a birthday party, not a single person said a word. And, these were family members!

Also, I've been forced to socialize with a group of other moms for the past year. They all know who my kids are. When they saw me with my cute little baby nieces, they didn't even have the courtesy to ask who they were, or even acknowledge that anything was different! What the heck! I would have said something to them. Isn't that being social???

Back to the point of the thread: I guess it just proves that they're only interested in making the effort for people who count.

When you've been in a class for the nine months and not even the teacher knows your name yet.

When your widest circle of friends is a bunch of plastic figures.

When people pretend to like you, then take the piss out of you behind your back.

I think some people with AS are really thrown for a loop when somebody changes their appearance because they have prosopagnosia, or "face blindness." I don't have it to the degree some people do, but it is bad enough to be embarrassing at times.

1) when you find the most economical, comfortable and practical hotel and best flight to a conference, your colleagues acknowledge this but all find some excuse why they have to travel at a different time and all end up going together and staying in the same place and you are alone

2) the above happened to you last week but you were actually pleased as then you could do what you want without having to consider other people

When nobody wants to talk to you, due to believing pathetic little fallacies and untrue rumours that are spread and told to almost everyone (BS in other words).

The only time a group of acquaintances acknowledge you is when one of them is asking you for a piece of gum. :?

(Happened to me today. I'm not good enough to talk to, but they'll eat my gum???)

A person feels no need to bother making up an excuse when walking away from you after you have begun speaking to them.

Why should they worry themselves with manners when it's just someone like me?

(Also happened today. NOT a good day!! !!)

When you don't go to your school graduation and nobody notices, not even the teachers.

To be told to "go away, you're annoying" at work and other people nod in agreeance.

When you decide it's time to change your signature, because you've been forced to move on and on and on and on.........

They call you "stupid" because of your social naivete, but bug you to help them with their homework.

I can relate to this one. This used to happen at my previous job also. I would be excluded from everything and humilated and degraded everyday but the NT's would expect me to do their work for them.
