The trick is to be made to laugh like what wedding photographers do, but that is hard to do if you happen to be by one's self. It's like tickeling yourself

i like pictures that show some personality or emotion, and "smiling" doesn't always mean happy. most of the time when people are happy they just look normal lol.

i used to love to take portrait photos of my friend when i was a teenager, and when i gave them the photos their parents sometimes said they look sad. to me, they looked contemplative or shy or serious or... lots of things. sometimes smiles would be captured too, but if it didn't happen naturally it seemed kind of fake.

Tea, i like that sort of half-smile you have going on in the picture as you look like you are being a rascal or something. and Bucephalus, i like your pic because it looks like you're in the middle of making an important point.

big shit-eating grins are overrated.
