Spam bots, still in their protective cocoons.

Where did you get this photo, pcgoblin? 8O

Are you the evil mastermind we've all been searching for?

This is not a serious accusation :P

I think I did a search for SPAM robots. There were several images available, all similar, when I did the original search. I tried to find them, but today the results are different. There was a video at one time (February 2023), but the video no longer appears to be available. Meet a fleet of artificially intelligent cans of Spam (again, the video is present anymore, but it appears the still images initially found came from the video.)

Fred Rogers
Although this is his wife Joanne. She has a lovely smile and eyes. She has a few senior moments, like many of us have when our brains become less elastic with age.

I could never be a Fred Rogers. I have to think that's okay because it is hard enough figuring out who I am. My hope is that by understanding me, I can be better to others. I've always thought that. Do you think Fred Rogers watched shows about serial killers? (no, he did not watch much television) I could never be Fred Rogers, but I can admire him for who he was. Hopefully someday some of his kindness will rub off on me. I think the trick is not imitating people one admires, but trying to find yourself, and hopefully some of the same qualities shared with Mr. Rogers are found too. I did not watch Mr. Rogers as a child. I discovered him when I was a teenager.

I wonder what one would do if they are unable to find themselves

8O  Fred might not approve the amount of television I watch, but I cannot imagine him chastising me about it either.

Was Fred Rogers self-actualized?
Self-actualization - Wikipedia wrote:
Maslow's self-actualizing characteristics are:
  • Efficient perceptions of reality. Self-actualizers are able to judge situations correctly and honestly. They are very sensitive to the superficial and dishonest.
  • Comfortable acceptance of self, others, and nature. Self-actualizers accept their own human nature with all its flaws. The shortcomings of others and the contradictions of the human condition are accepted with humor and tolerance.
  • Reliant on own experiences and judgement. Independent, not reliant on culture and environment to form opinions and views.
  • Spontaneous and natural. True to oneself, rather than being how others want.
  • Task centering. Most of Maslow's subjects had a mission to fulfill in life or some task or problem 'beyond' themselves (instead of outside themselves) to pursue. Humanitarians such as Albert Schweitzer are considered to have possessed this quality.
  • Autonomy. Self-actualizers are free from reliance on external authorities or other people. They tend to be resourceful and independent.
  • Continued freshness of appreciation. The self-actualizer seems to constantly renew appreciation of life's basic goods. A sunset or a flower will be experienced as intensely time after time as it was at first. There is an "innocence of vision", like that of a child.
  • Profound interpersonal relationships. The interpersonal relationships of self-actualizers are marked by deep loving bonds.
  • Comfort with solitude. Despite their satisfying relationships with others, self-actualizing people value solitude and are comfortable being alone.
  • Non-hostile sense of humor. This refers to the ability to laugh at oneself.
  • Peak experiences. All of Maslow's subjects reported the frequent occurrence of peak experiences (temporary moments of self-actualization). These occasions were marked by feelings of ecstasy, harmony, and deep meaning.
  • Self-actualizers reported feeling at one with the universe, stronger and calmer than ever before, filled with light, beauty, goodness, and so forth.
  • Socially compassionate. Possessing humanity.
  • Few friends. Few close intimate friends rather than many perfunctory relationships.
  • Gemeinschaftsgefühl. According to Maslow, the self-actualizers possess "Gemeinschaftsgefühl", which refers to "social interest, community feeling, or a sense of oneness with all humanity."

I am tickled that you posted your comment about an hour into my starting my Fred Rogers post. You had no idea what I was doing, and I had no idea what you were expressing. I spent three hours watching the lips. I was concerned about the one where Fred has his tonsils removed. It was directed by George Romero. I was concerned it would be a gag video, but it wasn't. The documentary I will watch later. I need to run errands.
I completely agree with you CockneyRebel about Killjoys.

I'm going onto my 15th week without coffee or energy drinks. I'm a much better person for it.

I would like to learn to say one thing, listen, and then say one more (responsive) thing.

Fifteen weeks is a long time! I wish I could follow you in this. I drink far too much coffee.

I had to be firmer with myself.
And stop this... "Complacent" self.

That, and...
The 'ideal healthy self' -- I had to recognize this is not my default self.

I had to recognize this self is temporary.
That this "more regulated self" only lasts for few days a month.

That this self is fleeing.
That this self should not make decisions on my behalf, for it is not the self who is present.

This damnable 'better self' is basically my body fooling itself, trying to fool me. Trying to deceive me that I'm living my life -- it's not.

I had to put my foot down.
And assume to have a lifestyle of the worst version of me, never 'best'.
I already tried that for years now; and nothing.

I had to assume my worst, and stop believing in waiting for the best self to shine.
It is not reliable. It never is. Only way to move forward is either this, or a permanent solution that it wouldn't be this way.

Deconstructing language module.
1 month at least.
And it's final.

An attempted project.
I want to destroy everything my younger selves had constructed.
