I had a dream recently that was kinda unusual for me. It made me think i understand certain religions in ways i never considered.
I, or someone that kinda represented me, was in a car with a guy. He looked a bit like a burnt angry Pepperami with a kind of massive hammer that protruded out of his lower half. He was a kind of mob boss. Anyway, my dream character was saying to this guy, 'I don't think i would wan't to sacrifice a testicle either!' (my dream character was male)
For some reason a sacrifice of a testicle was necessary for my boss, but the guy in question didn't want to, and neither did i.
Anyway, the boss got out, walked round the back of the car, opened my passenger door, grabbed me by the testicle, and dragged and me out of some massive gates, into another world, what i then realised was earth.
I viewed the rest of the dream just observing what was going on.
My dream character was pounding on the gates and whaling to be let back it, it was terrible, and awful. He was pretty much being tortured out there, and eventually was killed.
After death he came back in, in a pretty bedraggled state. Another guy appeared and said to the boss, 'do you really think he will still follow you, after you did that'? 'Yes, He will', said the boss.
I knew at this point that he was in fact going to follow the boss, even after this was done to him.
It occurred to me, that the dream character that got thrown out, could be seen as being a lot like Jesus, and God, a bit like the mob boss.
The 'Jesus' dream character was thrown out, because he was not willing to lose a testicle if need be. That might be fair enough one might think, and neither would I. The 'Jesus' character thought though that it was his testicle to chose what to do with, like he owned something that was not a part of 'God'. He was thrown out into earth, not to teach him a lesson, as this would be cruel and pointless, but in order for the 'Jesus' character to still chose to follow 'God', despite being thrown out and tortured.
Why was it important to be tortured and die, and still hold no resentment, and follow God, as the only way?
Without it, 'Jesus's' privileged position of being 'Gods/boss', right hand man, was at that point he was unable to appreciate not just the importance of doing exactly what the mafia boss wants, but that there really is nothing, apart from the bosses wishes, everything is illusion.
The immature state of entitlement, the illusion, had to be killed. Devotion had to come from a place of complete humility, where he learned that everything he was, belonged to God, all life is God.
I think this is why Jesus within Christianity is spoken of as the path to God, to afterlife. He is the kind of blueprint or gateway. The link form Earth to After-world.
It also made me think, that every person who dies, their eternal spirit naturally return to spirit world. Its just a cycle, the question is though, whether or not our earthly self, can find a way to heaven too.
The is a dream analysis, not someone who is writing from a Christian perspective, or trying to convince anyone of anything. Though i highly doubt anyone got this far reading!!
