i went to branch meeting today. we talked about sexism. it's not one of those things often talked about and that's why we spoke of it. it felt good to hear it talked about because, despite it being an in your face everyday thing that nobody awknowledges it, it never does get spoken of and i get told to shut up if i ever say something about it. it was especially nice to hear guys talk about it. as one of our female members observed typically, if a woman ever mentions sexism, guys will shut up and it is one of the few times you can get them to be quiet.
also today i went to queer youth group and talked about the services that might apply to me in terms of housing and apparently they can help with social skills. they mentioned they might be able to supply medium or short term housing but i would feel guilty if i used that. i dont think i deserve it. but it was good to talk about it even though it freaks me out.

My mum's ankle operation seems to have done the trick. She left the hospital without crutches and ankle brace.
