The long term cultural effects of
Psycho were disastrous; it was this film, more than any other, that brought in the age of normalisation of violence in media, which was shortly - and predictably - followed by the age of glamorisation of violence in the same.
The Birds was a perfectly wholesome and quite entertaining film. It's my grandmother's favourite.
