There's no way I would pay 20 quid for a bottle of wine from a shop. I don't think you can tell the difference

Unless you can comfortably afford £20 for wine, it is probably worthwhile to stick to the lower costing ones. A lot of people can't tell the difference when blind tested.

I agree with your comment.

Dry for the rest of month unless a kindly friend has mercy and drops off something.

The plan last night was to only have 3-4 pints of bud light but drunk a stupid amount again. I just find it really hard to stop drinking when I start :(

I had 3 cans at the beach over 7 hours. Most ppl that drink are drinking heavier this wknd as it’s a long wknd (BC day) And it’s Pride in Vancouver. But I have to drive, don’t have any party plans, and have work to do tmw and the next day - figured I may as well work through the long wknd since traffic is nuts everywhere. I’ll take some me time days later.

Afternoon all. On my 5th can of Magners today. Had about 10 cans yesterday, too much really so am looking to cut down. Cloudy and 16c here.

I used to have that problem when I went out to drink. I'd never only have a few. I used to joke that I'd drink less if I got buzzed faster. Really though, I have that alcoholic gene or something because I've always been able to drink folks under the table...even as a scrawny teen. It takes a lot to get me drunk. I find now that I mostly only drink at home, I drink a lot less at a shot. I think I used to use booze as a way to make being out tolerable. It was always so loud and so much going on. Alcohol took the edge off, I guess.

Ended up having a can of IPA earlier and now a bottle of Corona. I feel like I'm going to be making the shift to more alcohol free days soon - coffee/water/flavoured soda waters etc. Having a drink or two daily just isn't.. ideal.

Some people can drink 4 pints quickly and then stop for the rest of the night. Not me though.

I used to go out drinking twice a week but now I have reduced it to once which is a good start.

I'm at present just finishing a bottle of Hoegaarden, a medium strength (4.9%) Belgian wheat beer in a 750ml bottle. This is very decent stuff, which is usually priced in the £3.00-£3.50 range, but it was on offer at Home Bargains Bury branch today at £2.49, which made it a very good purchase in my opinion.
