Getting to talk to Daniel before I had to go out today. (Only one message, but I wasn't expecting him to be awake at that time so it was a nice surprise.)

I'm doing a piece of artwork for the first time in forever and it's turning out so fab! What amazes me is that I sketched it in under 10 minutes and it looks better than most of the drawings I actually put effort into.

have you ever had durian  , It tastes like onion custard !

I've never eaten one fresh only can, frozen etc it's so stinky your not allowed to have it on Singaporean public transport, I think it's smells OK perhaps a little stinky. :)

hrm is that what those taste like. i had always wanted to get one from the supermarket because they look interesting and feel good to touch but it doesnt sound so nice...

today at tutorial in uni for my intro to australian politics class i realised that a guy from queer collective was in my class and so was a woman from my gender and womens studies class last term.
before i went home from uni i went to woolies and got a wagon wheel and wafers. i tried the fudge wagon wheel and woolworths brand wafers and they were nicer than expected.
then i went to poster rockdale with palestine rally posters because it has a high muslim and arab population and a lot of us feel strongly about israel for obvious reasons. then i went to sutherland to ask centrelink stuff and postered the area there and when i ran out of tape i asked the store owners if they would like to put posters for a same sex marriage protest in their windows and a few said yes though only 2 said it enthusiastically... for that i would like to thank curves gym and the butcher. a guy i went to highschool with was at one of the stores. the look on his face when i, the quiet, seemingly asexual being who lives in a conservative area, started talking same sex marriage to the store owner  i love messing with former classmates. his brother was there too. he used to mock me in highschool.
and while i was postering for the branch meeting on tuesday some kids who didnt look older than 12, fresh out of primary, came up to me to ask about the russian revolution and if they could come and how much it would cost. their parents will say no of course but i love kids who love to learn. they werent making fun of me either because they didnt snicker as they went away. i cant wait till i teach. i know a lot of kids will be a***holes but kids like those will make it worth it.
and i put marxism conference leaflets in the left wing books in the library and left some in the leaflet rack.

I gave my ducklings a bath for the first time today! They were so cute, and they loved it!

international working womens day march. it was my first ever. a postered with a comrade. she lent me money to buy food because i had none. the maritime union is on strike illegally in solidarity with workers in new zealand who have been sacked and they stopped a boat of scabs form coming in. radical walking tour of sydney.
we had really fun chants:
womens rights are workers right: same struggle same fight
same struggle same fight: workers of the world unite
the workers united will never be defeated!
when womens rights are under attack what do we do? stand up fight back!
among others...
i had expected only the Australian Services Union to come but the Finance Sector Union and United Voice came. there were people there from the NTEU & NSW Teachers Federation but they just showed up on their own. cheers to those unions that came.

Finally got some decent snack foods after going without for awhile. I totally laid waste to the box of glazed donuts and ate a ton of chocolate to boot. I'm paying for it now with stomach cramps but oh, it was so worth it!
