Waking up, having a leisurely breakfast of Rice Krispies in chocolate milk and enjoying my leisurely time of reading a book.

I FINALLY got to go to the park for a walk. I mean, was that too much to ask for all these months?

It was amazingly refreshing. :D

Realizing just how well my Dad knows me and accepts me with all my quirks.
And a nice long walk followed by a cup of hot tea with fresh lemon. :)

My dad brought me the tube amp I ordered that had been sent to his work-place :D

That's not even the good part... The good part that made me happy is that it greatly surpassed all of my expectations :|

I had fairly high expectations :|

I've never heard or played through an amp that's this pleasing to listen to :|

I don't think I ever want to look for another amp... This is it for the long search! :D

What's the difference between a tube amp and a regular amp (aside from the tubes)?

I chose to do some banking and shopping in a small village in the country this afternoon.
It was a lovely sunny day.

As far as the most important thing which is tone, tubes sound more natural and warm than a solid state amp (non-tube amp that uses transistors). Which might mean very little until one compares the two types to see... to me, the sound is very distinct in contrast. Solid state sounds fairly mechanical in comparison... which has it's own niche of purpose I suppose.

Less important differences are that tube amps are usually bigger to house the tubes (Heavier and more clunky for travel), and generally look more... vintage. Tube amps cost much more, and have to have professional maintenance for when tubes blow out (If it needs biasing). I don't want to change my tubes... too tedious to replace a $20 tube, when you shouldn't even touch them with the oil from your hands :|

I've also heard that tube amps sound better for break-up at high volume levels, but... I'm autistic and don't like anything that loud, so I don't know if that's true from experience >_>. The amp I got has a setting for wattage between 18w and 1w... I have it at one watt and it's still quite loud at 9 o' clock... so I can't even test with courage since I live in an apartment :|

Lastly from experience, tube watts seem much louder than solid state. I'm not positive if it's true, but I had a 40w Fender Hotrod Deluxe tube amp which was far louder at the same volume level than a 65w solid state Fender Cyber Deluxe I had :?

That's about all I can think of off the top of my head

Edit: Also, I just remembered that many solid state amps are starting to build in onboard effects. I believe I've seen a tube amp with such a feature, but the effects were far fewer, and it's not as common as solid states doing it :?
