I LOVE October. September is still too hot, November a bit too cold. Spring would be nice, but I have several seasonal allergies around all these oak trees here.

Winter is harsh here too. Hopefully it will calm down this winter, but so far this year, the weather has been very hateful to Joplin.

Yeah, Joplin had the only EF-5 tornado in Missouri since they started recording tornadoes in 1950. Wiped a third of a town of 50,000 people out. Weird place before, even weirder now.

Tornados are very rare here, but there was actually one not too far from here a month or so ago, can't remember when now.
But yes, that sounds rather...mindblowing!

I'm originally from Kansas, and got used to the things growing up. But this one was different and just pure evil.

Mindblowing...ha...also houseblowing and carblowing in my parents' case. But thank goodness they were able to save the Tupperware. Tornadoes are weird.

True though, the tornado took their house and both of their cars and tossed them around like they were pieces of paper, but left the Tupperware untouched in the kitchen cabinet. They never found their bathtub, shower, or roof at all!

All we get is a thunderstorm or two a year, but I guess people who live in those tornado regions know the risks, right?

Right, just like people who live on the coast are aware of hurricanes and people who live under volcanoes are completely insane, we who live in tornado alley are very aware of the dangers. It usually works out ok though. This one was just a monster. Even some people with basements weren't able to get away from this thing.

Oh you know what frustrates me? The lack of knowledge in this country of weather anywhere else outside of this country!
I mean yeah I'm a weather geek but still!
