[...] There was a programme on years ago about coincidences. The [weirdest] one I ever heard was about this man who took a day off work to go visit someone in another town. He was walking past a random phone box and the phone rang. So he answered and it was someone from HR at his company. He asked how they knew where he was and that he would be outside this phone box in this other town at exactly that moment. The HR person told him she dialled his personnel number instead of his home phone number by mistake which, [coincidentally], was the same as the phone number of the phone box the man was walking past at the time!

more from the telegraph's QI column..

Planet Dave

There are eight planets in our solar system, (at least) five dwarf planets (Ceres, Pluto, Haumea, Makemake and Eris) and 535,000 registered minor planets. 3,000 of these are registered each month (there may be almost two million such bodies with diameters of over a kilometre), which has led to some ludicrous naming solutions.
For example, there are 10 minor planets called Dave: (22151) Davebracy; (5748) Davebrin; (33750) Davehiggins; (6111) Davemckay; (5952) Davemonet; (6953) Davepierce; (6435) Daveross; (27810) Daveturner; and (13808) Davewilliams.

That one's named after Dave Ross, the leader of the Daleks, of course.
