To be quite honest I'll have to check since it's in the tropical part of the garden, definitely not of European origin. :)
An Acacia?
I'd be interested to know too - it's quite nice.

I just checked the web page but it isn't listed, so I'll go over there and check. :thumright:

The Tibetan/Himalayan poppy (Meconopsis)?
They're a bit difficult apparently, but it seems the trick is cooling the seeds first. http://www.alchemy-works.com/meconopsis_grandis.html
(not that I've actually tried - just stuff I've picked up through an interest in plants)

yes, i've tried from both seed and as a bedding plant (our botanical gardens sell them here). i am a spotty waterer and they need to be constantly kept damp.

Nim, your beautiful star pics reminded me of a picture i took when i was 8 or 9 years old. my dad was just teaching me a little about taking photographs, and this was a snap from my first series of shots. i had it blown up to poster size and people always ask me if it is a picture of the sky at night. even as a kid i had a strange perspective lol.

Fantastic :D That pic remind me of some the experiments I did with media & texture in art school. I mucked about a lot the print workshop playing with mono & silk screen. I found my cheep digital camera before & was playing around with it taking a few snaps of the my sill life work to test my camera.

I don't know if any of you guys could point me in the right direction to a decent camera on a budget of around £200, if that is possible.
Very nice photos, my current camera is more for video and is fairly cheap. I mean it's not bad but it doesn't do crystal clear pictures like some of these, look at my avatar for reference.
