Not much for me to do family tree wise. Since my family are rich and famous it's all been thoroughly researched. Not to give too much away, my great grandfather invented those plastic tips that go on the ends of shoe laces.

Cool! My grandfather was a prospector/miner and found a lot of gold. Problem in those days was didn’t have equipment able to get it out efficiently. That side of the family is well documented as the Scandinavian records are well kept. Other side of the family, illiterate labourers. That grandfather’s signature was his mark - an X. First born son given the same name as is father, and his father before him. Makes it difficult to trace.

I was making stuff up about my family. Although my maternal great great grandfather really was an inventor. Invented things in the industrial electronics field. That side was researched by some cousin a long time ago. There's a big stack of photocopied papers on it. I never bothered reading any of it. Also there are several generations of father to son with the same middle name. Have no idea if anyone on my dad's side ever did any research. I know my paternal great grandparents names, and where the lived but that's about it.

I wasn’t going to say anything, but I googled about the lace tips and the time frame was a bit off to be your great grandfather :D

I thought I was just making stuff up. But now I know that an English inventor named Harvey Kennedy is said to have earned $2.5 million off the modern shoelace in the 1790s. Whodathunkit?
