Cool! My grandfather was a prospector/miner and found a lot of gold. Problem in those days was didn’t have equipment able to get it out efficiently. That side of the family is well documented as the Scandinavian records are well kept. Other side of the family, illiterate labourers. That grandfather’s signature was his mark - an X. First born son given the same name as is father, and his father before him. Makes it difficult to trace.
