I was 18 when I moved out for school and I never went back.

My daughter told me I was autistic in 2017. She thought I knew but that I hadn't mentioned it lol.

(I was assessed in 2018).

I already gave an answer.

How often do you encounter people who say the spectrum isn't real?

I've never encountered that, but I've encountered lots of other misguided opinions such as

- everyone is a little autistic
- you must be high functioning!
- you need to get out more
- I think I'm autistic too, because I'm shy!
- counselling will probably fix it
or my favourite:
- autistic people are ret*d and / or geniuses

My bigoted uncles both believe the spectrum isn't real.

How much bigotry do you witness daily?

Uh, none??

I don't socialise with anyone who would be bigoted, I seldom leave home, and I don't do news.

I don't go in public a lot, so not much.

Do you have any stims?

I have a LOT of stims, and I can't go five minutes without stimming even in my sleep. I needed to be medicated because they became injurious. I'm actually back to the self-injurious stage again.

Do you have a good memory?

My short-term is really bad. My longterm memory of my life is quite good but it's mostly sensory-based. I'll remember smells and sounds and textures but very little visual or episodic. My study memory is quite strong and it's spatial. I'll remember where I put bits of information in my brain. I also remember all sorts of details about WP members. Anything I see in written form sticks in my brain because of synaesthesia.

My memory is relatively good. I even remember a lot of things from when I was a toddler. I also easily remember details about other people and it creeps them out. lol
