We had a band competition early today (actually too early; we were at school by 6:15!) which is judged on a scale of 1 to 5, with 1 being the best. All of the judges gave our band a 2, which is impressive considering we come from a very small high school.

While the lower grades are stuck in Advisory student-teacher conferences, I will be with the student government at the senior-only assembly!

The best part is that we (yes, as a member of the student government!) hired a hypnotist to perform there!

Some students have already expressed their interest in being hypnotized according to the more common perception of hypnosis....

Had a long chat with an old friend tonight whom I hadn't talked to in a number of months. Felt good to catch up and reminisce. Also made me think about others I have not spoke to in a good while and whether I should try speak to them or not. Guess I have some thinking to do!

Having a pretty girl hold a door open for me on my way to class this morning. Considering all the things that could go wrong, or alternatively all that I take for granted, these simple, small, and seemingly random acts of kindness go a long way to keeping me in a good mood.
