The only other member of the class I can remember is Danny. I thought there was a wimpy character called Walter, but can't find any mention of him. Was he in the 'Dennis The Menace' strip?

In the Bash Street Kids there was Cuthbert Cringeworthy who was the teacher's pet.

There was a lot of refreshing political incorrectness going on originally about physical and mental handicaps such as obesity, impaired vision, and impaired intelligence.
Their population swelled in the 1970s because of immigration from India, mostly girls. I'd stopped reading it by then so I've only just found out. Starmer will probably have them deported as part of the trade deal with Trump.

From the left top to bottom: Danny, Sidney, Plug, Smiffy, Fatty, Toots, Wilfred, Spotty, 'Erbert.

The Indian family didn't show up until quite recently. They certainly weren't there in the 80s when I read the Beano.

Fatty is now Freddy and Spotty is Scotty.

Smiffy is still dumb and Plug is still ugly so I guess it's still okay to take the mick out of stupid and ugly people.
