I just returned from seeing an exhibit at the Portland Art Museum. The exhibit will finish its run this Sunday.

in Mediterranan countries, if you fail at something

the habit is for a friend of your's to say

"It's ok my friend of all friends.
Don't worry.
That issue doesn't matter anyway."

that verbal phrase goes back in time
at least to the Ionians.

saying it comfort's the friend,
removes the pain of failing
and extinguishes any guilt felt by the failed friend
real ...or imagined.
it does nothing with the actual failure itself.

i've taken to saying that to/for myself

this world drags me around
