We have some Scottish rhyming slang as well,such as
He's a bit corned beef (deef= deaf)
Sorry,I haven't a Scooby (Scooby Doo= clue)
I'm going down the hedley for a couple of jaggers (Hedley Lemarr= bar,Mick Jaggers = lagers)

The first two above are in everyday use,but I must admit I haven't heard many people using the third one !

I love the Newfy(Newfoundland) accent. My paternal family comes from there. The only Newfie's I've met were my cousins and my uncle Reny and his wife. The Newfy accent is descended from Irish because most Newfie's are descended from Irish people that came during the potato famine I think. I think most Nova Scotians are descended from Scots, but I'm no sure if they have the accent.

I also like how the Geordie's speak. I found out about the dialect in the movie Plague Dogs and I find it fascinating because it can sound unitelligible and because of the abundance of Old English words it uses.


I like any accent that is radically different from mine. I can't say the same for Spanish accents that are radically different from my light Puerto Rican accent. Hearing Argentines speak makes me want to vomit. It's sounds like singing. And it sounds almost Italian. No offense Argentina. We Borincanos need to start learning how to sound out our s's,

Great Britain is like New York. A place for the whole world and his wife to settle down. As for our accents there are far too many to generalise. But I assume you like the proper English accent that the Queen uses?

I am from Manchester and our accent is the best in England.

English is all about saying something without expression. We have so many adjectives that we can use words where other languages have to use expression.
