I don't believe they're terrible weapons or anything of that nature. But they have been hyped as it were by Hollywood and other such medias. I believe if you asked the average person what they thought looked more like a generic pistol, they would probably point out a Glock.

My father offered a theory to me once that different guns are "right" for different people. There's just a certain feel that differs between manufacturers. Some do better with Glocks, some with S&W, some with H&K, et cetera. My friend has a particular affinity for modern Colt pistols.

AK47s are incredibly simple weapons. It really took a genius to design something so simple and cheap but effective.

Same with the M1911, it takes a genius to design a weapon strong enough st remain in continuous use (literally- the last military 1911s were procured in the 40s) for fifty years. Like the AK-47 it'll shoot if it's full of mud or sand with bad ammunition without being cleaned for ten years. It has exactly two problems- feeding (which is mostly a magazine problem) and extraction (which can be fixed with a WELL MADE replacement extraction spring) admitidly the glock is tough, but I'd like too see how it stands up to fifty years of service.

There is a company in Nevada that trains people in various weapons and shooting/survivalist techniques.

Love firearms, had an obsession with them since I was a tyke.
I was the only one in my platoon in basic taining that could field-strip an M-16A2 without having been shown how to by a drill sergeant. I knew the manual of arms for the M-60 when I was 12. I could (and probably still can) disassemble and reassemble an M-1911-style .45 blindfolded, at the age of 14. Fully conversant with the operations and maintenance of most NATO and former Soviet-bloc small arms and I'm (well, was, don't know about now... haven't done any shooting in years) an excellent distance shooter.
Personally, I prefer H&K, however, I'd kill (kidding... or am I?) to get my hands on an FN PS90. I'd love to see more firearms designed with lefties in mind from the start.
Given the fairly restrictive firearms laws in Canada, I no longer own any, however, I'm strongly considering getting back into Airsoft.

I like railguns, they're awesome, though they are still working on them because the current ones burn out the tube itself.

Yep, and also the largest nuke ever detonated by the US, the third largest man made explosion ever, first Teller-Ulam "layercake", first 'solid' (non-cryonic) second stage and it doubled its presumed yield due to the unexpected 'tritium bonus'. Quite a day.

Yeah, the P90 is definately on my list of "frickin sweet guns I'd love to have" and I'm a southpaw so... *two thumbs up*.

Rocket launchers are vaporized by plasma and lasers.

I like shooting but I don't hunt. Not because I think there's anything wrong with it but it's really early and really cold and I'm not really in the mood to go sit in the woods for hours to maybe kill something.

I just like going out and shooting targets and stuff.

Same here, I may eventualy go hunting again, not because I like killing (or gutting, or skinning gaaaaa!! !) but because I really like venison. However I'll probably use a bow- it's slightly less unfair.
