$3.75 here in Newport, Rhode Island and that's from the Stop & Shop Gas Station which is usually the cheapest. At the Hess station in Middletown which is the second cheapest on Aquidneck Island, it's $3.79.

Also, US dependency on Middle Eastern crude oil
is running more & more thin by the day.

By this fall, barrels of crude oil will approach the $200 mark.
Eventually, all the oil will run out.

What will happen then?

Solar is rapidly becoming more cost-effective. We'll never burn all the oil, the price will just rise above the cost of converting sunlight. Sounds like an opportunity for people with the "engineers' disorder."

It was over $4.00 here last time I checked, same as everywhere else. Luckily my daily commute is very short (actually walkable when I'm not feeling lazy). Unless I go out on country drives I only have to fill up about once a month.

I do love to go for long drives up into the mountains but now it's so f***ing expensive.

Yesterday, I paid $4.14/gal for the #87 gas in the Bay Area. Had I gotten the Fancy (91) gas it would have been $4.35/gal. It cost me $58 to fill up my tank, and that's a normal-sized tank, about 14 gallons.
