Ugh, my parents can be so prissy at times; treating me like some sort of uneducated hick. STOP IT.

Apple products are easier to use and less prone to problems, they say.

Lie.

Thanks to pcgoblin (his post mentioned it), I just found out that you can only edit your post within the first 2 days and 2 hours after submitting it.

I thought it was around 7 days? There's still posts of mine from June 5 with the edit button

IIRC the editing window is 10,000 minutes - or 6.944 days.

Well, I still find an "Edit" button in my post from May 20th, but when I click that button I get a window that says that a post can only be edited within 3000 minutes of being submitted. So is that message wrong? Why is there an "Edit" button when it can no longer be edited?

Ha, the outrage by the media and a whole heap of vocal people (who probably aren't the majority, but they sound like it) would be absolutely epic if the liberal party allowed concealed carry and loosened the firearm laws here in Oz.

Ha.

Hi Cornflake,

May 20th (my time and probably your time): my post at the bottom of the 152nd page of the "Grisha's say something boring and pointless thread." thread.

I think what I said originally seems to be right. I tried to edit a post that I made on June 8th (which is only 5 days old), but I got the same message "You are only allowed to edit your post within the first 3000 minute(s) of it being submitted.".

I looked at some of my other old posts, including one from December 2012, and found an "Edit" button in all of them. I think the "Edit" button doesn't disappear even when a post gets very old.

It's no big deal any way. I have never intended to edit even one-day old post. I just tried it because pcgoblin's post gave me that information.

I see this now too, the edit limit has indeed been reduced to 3000 minutes (just over 2 days), yet every single post of mine since 2009 has the edit button on it. Not functional of course, because of the edit limit. Interesting indeed

Meanwhile, I'm now bored.

i have very much trouble understanding the facial expressions of birds. one can never tell what they are thinking.
once i tried to have a conversation with my uncle's parrot (who could talk) and i found that he was very evasive as well as arrogant.
i asked him

me: what does it feel like to be a parrot ?

parrot: close the door.

(why?!? was what he was going to tell me too private for other ears?. i went and closed the door).

me: ok. the door's closed. now what does it feel like to be a parrot?

parrot: i want a cup of tea.

me: are you joking?

parrot: (blank stare)

me: ok. maybe you're not.

(i went and made him a cup of tea)

me: ok. here's a cup of tea. now how does it feel to be a parrot?

parrot: you're a pretty boy.

me: i am sorry i am not bestially homosexual (it was a male parrot)

parrot: you're a pretty boy.

me: why are you trying to butter me up? just tell me what it's like to be a bloody parrot! that is all i want to know!

parrot: close the door.

me: i already did ! !!.

parrot: i want a cup of tea.

me: but you haven't touched the cup of tea i gave you ! !.

parrot: close the door.

me: are you kidding me? i know what's happening, you're playing....

parrot: i want a cup of tea.

me: ok it's painfully obvious that you are playing some sort of game with me and...

parrot: you're a pretty boy.

me: how dare you keep talking over me. you are an arrog....

parrot: i want a cup of tea.

me: do you think i am a fool?!?! i will not be played with in this....

parrot: you're a pretty boy.

then i looked at his face and i could not tell whether he was being malicious or just joking. so i got up and left, and on my way out he said "close the door", but i left it open and came back 3 minutes later to see whether he was annoyed that i did not close the door, but his facial expression was not able to be calculated, and so i never knew whether he was bullying me or whether it was a failed joke.

birds are difficult to engage in conversation for me. i think NT's would be able to talk effortlessly to birds that can talk. they seem to have more compatible linguistic style.
