How long do you usually nursemaid a beer for at home? When I go to the pub I just keep getting the urge to drink fast.
I get through a 440ml can of Magners cider in between half an hour and an hour. I never get drunk, just relaxed.

I get the impression that weaker beers like 3.5 percent can be drunk faster

TBH I think i'd rather drink my own piss than a 3.5% beer. If I drink beer it's normally around 5%. Kronenbourg 1664 or Faxe.

You can still get a buzz on 3.5 percent beer

Yea, if you drink enough of it. Tastes crap to me though. Fosters tastes OK at 4% but I prefer a 5% beer for maximum taste.

Went back to the fair last night so as not to waste an extra pair of gate & concert tickets my brother had. Had 3 cans of beer before heading in and saw the “Walk Off The Earth,” concert. Had 1/2 a glass of slushy pina colada after. Ate some sushi tacos & mini donuts and bought some lottery tickets for the house/cars etc - every year for decades they’ve raffled off a house. This time it’s just under a 20 min drive from where I live and is valued at $2.2M. Would be nice to score a free house!

Beers under 5% can be very flavourful. Peach wheat ales, Guinness etc etc so many full flavour beers under 5% the only reason to insist on 5% or higher is to get more intoxicated - which sometimes I do.. like the one beer I bought at the fair last week I bought the 5.5% because for $11.xx with tip I want the extra 10% alcohol content lol.

When I have free money I need to go to the liquor store and buy some more tequila to make more maragritas. I love them.

Tequila is expensive here. Typical 26er runs about $44, and “good,” ones cost double.

But there’s a reasonably good one available for order by the case of 12 (when it isn’t back ordered like now) at $29.99/bottle and it’s better than many $45 bottles soooo if/when it’s available to order again I’m gonna get a case or two to split with friends.

I just checked a major liquor store in the general area. 1.75l Classic Club Gold Tequila is $18.99 (US). The same quantity of José Cuervo Gold is $32.99.

After drinking my first 2-3 beers fast I immediately felt calm but then I got an urge to keep knocking back my pints super fast because I want to get some sort of europhic high.

It's a really bad cycle and it shows I have got a real problem.

How can you afford this? It's good you can acknowledge having a problem, though.

I may know I have a problem but i can't seem to find a way to solve the issue.

Often other people buy me and the others in my group drinks as well. Basically buying rounds.

Here are tequila prices here from our government stores: (3 pages)
https://www.bcliquorstores.com/product- ... esc&page=1

Some different brands available at private stores, but for the most part very similar prices.

So to get a dozen bottles at $29.99 here is CHEAP. And no, it's not worth buying South of the border and bringing back.. the tax is too high. We can only bring one bottle duty free after staying outside the country for 48 hours. So whenever people take a trip each adult typically brings back a bottle.

Decline their offer ? :?

"No thanks, I've had my limit."
"I'm good, I have to drive soon."
"No thanks, I'm cutting back."
"Nah, enough for me, I have an early morning."

etc. Just because someone offers to pay for drinks doesn't mean you HAVE TO accept & drink them.

True but sitting there for hours without beer can be boring. Drinking is part of the fun of socialising in pubs for me personally.

Have you got an techniques I could use to drink my beer at a slower pace.
