Just when I thought the wierd stuff in my life was going to calm down, it doesn't. But at least it's not maliciously wierd, just creepy "wish there weren't people like that out there, but there are" kinda wierd. I'm unhappy (and a bit unsettled) about that. And my neck is unhappy about the errands involved with sorting wierdness.

so my autism is really effecting my ability to study. like a lot. besides my nonexistant attention span and crappy executive function i have to deal with my special interest which seems to be flaring up now that the weather is right(its herbs and the weather is important because i need to plant stuff now and plan how and what). my essays just do not happen. a guy i know said he was getting an extention because of his adhd so i figured i'd look into it. i looked into it. i cant get it. why? because my papers need to be less than 2 years old and i need to have papers from a shrink or a doctor saying how it affects my study. i dont see a shrink and i do not have a GP and the youthworkers at youthgroup cannot even see how it affects my social skills which is obvious to anybody who is near me for 5minutes so theyre not likely to take anything else seriously. part of the reason i dont see a shrink is because i hate them and the other reason is that i cant talk to people- it makes me uncomfortable because im a socially awkward aspie. so i cant get help im supposed to be able to get as an autist because im autistic essentially. is this irony? oh and my diagnosis papers which do note attention and executive function issues are 7 or 8 years old. brilliant. im just going to be f##ked for the rest of uni.

also i was with my classmate and he was getting a drink from the store when i saw this front page article in the sydney morning herald:
"Rioting youths 'could be the next terrorists' "

Quote:
VIOLENT young Muslim men who took part in the Sydney riot two weeks ago could step up to become the next terrorists
...
assistant commissioner for counter-terrorism, Steve Lancaster, raised particular concerns about members of the Lebanese community, saying they were over-represented in the ''distorted Sunni Islamist ideology'' in Australia.
...
These people will be looking at the young men in the riots and could seek to recruit those with serious violent tendencies
...
Some Muslims in Australia had strong links with Lebanon, Afghanistan and Pakistan. ''When they return it is very difficult to find out what they've been up to and how extreme they have become.
...

i have read a lot of racist stuff in my life but holy cow. are we all terrorists now? better hide my lebanese citizenship card and passport otherwise the government might think i have links with my country. since when was being ethnic indicative of terrorist links? should the muslim members of my community stop practicing? or the sunnis convert to shia islam? jesus christ. and it was the front page.

edit: add to the the fact that the same sex marriage bill was voted down in the tasmanian senate. and my dad threatening to come over here.

I just realised that for the next several days there is a fireworks "competition" in my town meaning that every night this weekend there will be loads of bloody LOUD fireworks and music during the evenings. It's an annual thing. Nice how they think about autistic people when they organise these events. I can't help but imagine some poor little autistic kid having a meltdown because there really is NO escape from the noise of this thing - it upsets me enough and I'm 29. Did I say it was REALLY loud? A couple of weeks ago there was also an airshow. Like right in the middle of the town with military jets and stuff flying overhead at a really low height. Even earplugs or playing loud music couldn't drown out the noise because you could *feel* it through the floor it was that loud. It makes me angry.

Some boys came at breaktime and laughed at me and followed me every time I tried to walk away, and no one tried to stop them or help me.

Do you watch the Chaser Hamster wheel ? I think you should they touched base on that one No wonder the chipolata fingered conservatives* hate the ABC, good god their not the pinko communists they make them out to be it's called balance folks , nearly 1/2 of them join the liberal as opposed to the ABC or the Labor party (spelt with out a " U") or heaven forbid the Greens.

They also did a side to side comparison after that 2 bit Radelian senator what ever his name is made that commentary about "strange people" Abbott vs Turnball probably one of the funniest things I've ever seen, this may shock you VN but I don't mind Malcolm in the Middle, perhaps not so he must be the next top dog because who wants a stinker like Abbott . :eew:

ooohhh the chasers are back?! if anybody can make this look funny it's them. mmn if conservatives think the abc who are further right than the greens are communists then that is embarrassing for them. but of course anybody to the left of hitler is a commie. Malcolm? Turnbull? from the liberal party?! wow. you? really? 8O 8O 8O
in a fight to the death i'd hope for them to both knock each other out but if i really had to choose it wouldnt be abbott im going for.
p.s. labour. (couldnt help myself. american spelling so bad.)

Actually - if Malcom Turnbull was head of the LNP they would have been in power by now. He is much more popular and much more sensible than Abbot.
(Not that I support the LNP, but Turnbull is an upgrade over Abbot)

I've been pretty disgusted with Australian politics lately - for a first world country, in many ways others that are second or third are ahead of you guys in quite a few areas.
I can't believe how far behind this place is in terms of things like same sex marriage and indigenous rights, etc.
When I learned just how popular One Nation managed to be and sat down and read some of their policies from when they were at the height of their popularity - it made me realise just how the average Australian thinks., A very sad day for me. But it makes sense why people like me get so much attitude from the average person on the street.
