Me and my family were aliens and we were fighting in an alien war. It felt extremely realistic.

it seems there is a collective unconscious meme of the earth being destroyed somehow. i don't wanna be here when it happens.

The apocalypse archetype seems to be one that many people access in dreams. It seems very common, the idea is even built into many religious mythologies.

I've had many dreams about fighting wars with aliens, dreams about skies filling with alien spacecraft, zombies taking over the world. The zombie seems to colour many people's dreams these days.

This morning I dreamed I had a tube of black poster paint, and I was looking in a mirror and very clumsily painting my eyebrows with it.

I've had a number of apocalyptic dreams, but never with the stereotypical sky filling up. Most of them have been zombie apocalypse dreams, which I've been having (except for the past few months) since I was at least fourteen. Eleven+ years of zombie dreams, that is. I've become quite the slayer of undead hordes. ;)

Hm for some reason the alien dreams feel a lot more scary than the zombie ones. Is it because being attacked by aliens is a lot more realistic?

another strange and frightening apocalyptic dream i had was concerning the underside of the earths crust.

i know most people will know this, but the earths crust is solid, and it floats on a plastic mantle. on the underside of the solid crust, there are inverted mountains of solid crust protuberances that reach down into the molten mantle that cling to the crust and grow over the eons. i dreamed that i was somehow monitoring these upside down mountains who's bases were on the underside of the crust, and one extremely huge inverted mountain was about to break off from the crust and fall into the mantle.

i realized that when this mountain (with it's base the size of the area of a continent) broke off, that the crust above it would suddenly rise catastrophically due to the release of the downward force of the weight of the anti-mountain, and the crust would crumble into many gargantuan fissures, and the outpouring of magma and release of internal pressure previously capped by a largely stable crust (with only the relatively trivial ring of fire, and a other tectonic boundaries ) would probably result in a global destruction of the conditions for life on earth.

then i seemed to be propelled upward like i was in a room at the end of the lower cycle of a bungy jump, and i felt like i was catapulted out of bed into wakefulness.

that was the end of that dream i had about 15 years ago.

yeah i can not describe stuff well at the moment because my mind is squashed by something else that happened that sucks all my energy away, so i am sorry if my post is banal.

I wish I had the words b9, but I know none would suffice. Peace to you.

Do you mean that you think it's more likely that aliens would invade than some kind of zombie plague epidemic?

a barely remembered one i had last night, involved me living out in the woods [not too different from my waking circumstance] and there was this open pool or pond of water that the local residents used for washing and such- it was at the base of a deep gulley, and we all lived on a hillside surrounding this pond. all of a sudden, a bunch of boys dressed in black jumpsuits descended on the area in white pickup trucks [with a blue horizontal stripe running along the side of each, and white canopies covering loads of stones], and en masse unloaded rocks and boulders into the pond, effectively sealing it off from our use. one of the boys said to me, "don't try to interfere, stay away from any of us, if you know what's good for you." then they got back into their pickup trucks and drove away. the few of us residents just looked at each other and shrugged our collective shoulders. then i awoke.

Three of my cousins and my two siblings and I were sitting in a circle inside a huge, hollow tree trunk. We were practicing using some kind of fire powers (coming out of our hands) in preparation for battle with this strange monster wreaking havoc outside. The monster looked like Howie Mandel with a half-robotic face and a red, mechanical-looking eye, plus all of these strange kelp tentacles coming out of his back like an octopus. I don't remember the outcome..

I dreamed that I was in a hotel and there was a swimming pool full of noodles--the kind you eat, not swimming noodles.

I had a dream that I was at my old elementary school and I saw Haruka and Michiru from Sailor Moon walking around the field there. They looked like their cartoon selves even though the setting was in the real world. I approached them and asked if I could join them. They said yes. We walked around and talked with each other. They were very kind to me. Then we were playing on some playground equipment when Haruka mentioned that she and Michiru were moving in together. I asked if I could move in with them. They said yes.

Then the scene changed and we were at our new house. We talked about sex and gay pride for a little while, and then Michiru ran into a changing room and took all of her clothes off, hollering for Haruka to join her there. But Haruka decided to ditch her and asked me to go skinny-dipping in the underground private pool. I agreed. We took all of our clothes off and went down a waterslide. All of a sudden the pool was filled with people. I was embarrassed to be naked, but no one could tell I was naked as long as my body was submerged in the water. I tried asking Haruka and Michiru if they would throw me my towel, but they had turned into cardboard cutouts.

Then my dad and brother appeared. My brother threw me my towel and dad said he was taking me home. He was very angry at me for moving in with Haruka and Michiru. He was upset that I was being a lesbian with them. I told him that I wasn't a lesbian, and he said "I think you'd know if you were." I tried telling him that I liked men more because I always fantasize about men with their shirts off. At this point he wasn't listening to me anymore. Then my dream ended.

I dreamt that the world had allegedly become inhospitable to human life, that if we lived outside, the air would slowly poison us. So we lived under a dome. But most of us were used for slave labor, though no one ever admitted to themselves that they were slaves; they told themselves that life was rough, but they were being saved by those who built the dome.

Two of us, however, recognized our slavery and were suspicious. We longed for free, non-recirculated air and suspected that there was nothing wrong with the air outside at all, that it was all a lie to keep us submissive. So one day, we ran away. We had a lawman close on our tail immediately and had to keep moving and trying to lose him. We found people outside the dome--regular towns. So we went to catch the bus which would take us the farthest away. We were going to use pseudonyms to avoid being found, and I was going to be either "Karen Paige" or "Dusty."

Then I woke up.
