Is it best to have water/non alcoholic beer between each pint?

Yes, it will keep you hydrated , flushes out toxins ,you won’t get tipsy as fast ,and helps prevent a hangover.

I always have a glass of water on the go when I'm drinking alcohol. Plenty of coffee is also a good idea:

Problem is if you drink water between pints you will not get that nice warm sociable feeling beer gives you since the water will flush the alcohol out of your system.

The reason why I drink alcohol is because it makes me loosen up a bit in social situations however some people also drink beer because they simply like the taste of it.

Why not drink beer as you would normally but have a pint of lemonade alongside to have the occasional sip of?

Alcohol still absorbs, might just take a little longer.. but it doesn't just flush out of you without getting you intoxicated.

If that were true you'd only get drunk drinking strong spirits and not mixed drinks.. but you can pour one ounce of vodka into a glass of water, drink it, and get just as drunk as taking a shot - it just takes a bit longer to absorb.

Had 2 cans at the beach last night around sunset. Just after dark I turned my phone flashlight on to help find someone's missing weed tin, which I found, and almost immediately found an iridescent ammonite. I THINK someone must have had it there and lost it, probably from Madagascar and worth about $5 but still pretty neat! But IF it was actually in the sand that was dredged up and brought to make the beach then it'd be super rare and potentially worth thousands. But someone probably dropped it I think.

Zero drinks yesterday

Maybe the same today, time will tell - depends what others are doing

Same for Friday - kind of on the fence about picking up a cold case of beer to take to the season ending bbq - not sure if they're serving alcohol there or not for liability reasons. Also, a decade ago a Lot of kiters would hang around and have a beer after a session/around Sunset. Now? I've seen maybe a handful of people have one in the parking lot and I did go to the brew pub with a few people. But it's different, times are changing.. a lot of younger active healthy fit people don't drink at all or super seldom, just a lifestyle choice. I think we may have seen alcohol consumption peak with my parents' generation or so. Feels like it's on the decline now. Some for health, others for financial reasons etc. Drinking is expensive and Also costs a lot in terms of health and brain/body performance for work/life/play.

Liquor store is only a block or so away from the bbq area, if it seems grabbing a case to share is a good move I could always go get one. Or just get one and toss it in my trunk and if the mood is right break it out and share, otherwise just take them home. Don't want or need to be the One Guy drinking lol but don't mind being generous and passing out a dozen beers or whatever if it's cool.

Kinda weird And kinda a good thing that I even have to contemplate this scenario. Drinking less is better for everyone; myself included.

^never did drink the whiskey I poured.. had one tiny sip, set the glass down, sat down and fell asleep. Put a coaster over it at ~3am when I woke up and went to bed.

Just got back from the pub and had 3 pints of bud light and made each one last 45 mins.

Defnintley got a bit of a buzz on it even though this time I drank slower.

Had 2 cans of beer and a double caesar at the beach last evening. Was there long enough to be legal to ride home.

So, I tried to drink last night. This is the second time I've tried to drink since I got covid at the beginning of the month. The first time, it was awful and I didn't have more than a couple of sips. I figured I was probably being an idiot and drinking before I was completely well and that was the issue. That or my sense of taste was impacting it because my taste is kinda muted, so it might just be off in general? I dunno. But last night, the same thing happened. It tasted awful and I just did not want it, and my taste is pretty much back to normal now. I wonder if covid did something to me and now alcohol tastes like death. Weird. Probably better for my health in the long run anyway. I might try again next month and see if it's the same, but I dunno. I'm not exactly motivated to keep trying to do something I don't seem to enjoy.

Probably better to stay sober tbh. One good side effect of covid (which I've not had so far).
