I love that song!

That made me laugh for some reason.

Do you ever interpret your own dreams, or just for others? What do you think that one was about, auntie? I've not a clue.

I dreamed I was on the park with my niece picking cherries and nettles when Beyonce Knowles started running around and serenading me. That was weird.

every now and then i try to do my own dreams, but it is somewhat akin to tickling one's self, IOW it doesn't seem to work as well as doing it for somebody else. i tend towards the view that many of my dreams are rhapsodic neural garbage. but from a keyword analysis of the doll dream, i get the following:

Doll
To see a doll in your dream, symbolizes childhood innocence and light-hearted fun. To dream that you are playing with a doll, represents a lack of communication between your conscious and unconscious mind. The dream also indicates an immature attitude towards the opposite sex. To see a beautiful doll in your dream, represents society's ideals. You may feel that you are unable to meet the expectations of others. Alternatively, the doll refers to the desire to escape from daily responsibilities. It may serve to bring you back to your childhood where life was much simpler and more carefree. To dream that a doll comes to life, signifies your desires to be someone else and escape from your present problems and responsibilities. The doll serves as a means to act out your wishes.
Fireplace
To see a lit fireplace in your dream, symbolizes contentment, warmth, and comfort. To dream of lighting or stirring a fireplace, suggests a burning a desire. You need to get to the heart of some matter or situation.
Nurse
To see a nurse in your dream, means that you need to take time out in order to heal, mentally, physically and spiritually.
Doctor
To dream that you are speaking with a doctor, indicates your need for emotional and spiritual healing. The dream could also highlight medical concerns. Perhaps it is time to go and get a physical check up.
Black
Black symbolizes the unknown, the unconscious, danger, mystery, darkness, death, mourning, rejection, hate or malice. The color invites you to delve deeper in your unconscious in order to gain a better understanding of yourself. It also signifies a lack of love and lack of support.More positively, black represents potential and possibilities. It is like a clean or blank slate.
Music
To hear harmonious and soothing music in your dream, signifies prosperity and pleasure. You are expressing your emotions in a positive way. Music serves to heal the soul.
Wood
To dream of wood and wooden objects, suggests that you are feeling dead and emotionless inside. Your behavior is too automated. You are not fully thinking things through. Alternatively, the dream may be a pun on "getting wood" or sexual arousal.
Floor
To see the floor in your dream, represents your support system and sense of security. You have a firm foundation that you can depend on. The floor in your dream may also symbolize the division between the unconscious and conscious. Alternatively, the dream may be a pun on being "floored" or being completely surprised. Perhaps you have been caught off guard about something. To see a polished, wooden floor in your dream, indicates that you are fully aware of your unconscious and keeping it suppressed. Consider the condition of the floor for further analysis. A well-maintained floor indicates a tight control of one's inner thoughts and emotions, or of an inner life on the auto-pilot of even deeper ego structures.

Cherry
To see cherries in your dream, symbolize honesty and truthfulness or sweetness and good fortune. Alternatively, the dream may be telling you that "life is like a bowl of cherries". In other words, don't take life so seriously; take it easy.
To see a cherry tree in your dream, represents luck, spring, femininity, and youth.
Nettles
To see nettles in your dream, represents a difficult situation that you need to avoid. You may be experiencing difficulty in expressing yourself. Perhaps you are in the middle of a "stingy" situation.
Park
To dream that you are at a park, represents a temporary escape from reality. It indicates renewal, meditation, and spirituality. You may be undergoing a readjustment period after experiencing some serious personal conflict or an end to an infatuation of some sort.
Niece
To see your niece in your dream,, represents some aspect of yourself that you need to acknowledge or recognize within yourself.
Actor/Actress
Tosee an actress/famous personality in your dream, represents your pursuit for pleasure. Your admiration of a particular celebrity may lead to a desire to have some of their physical or personality traits. Consider also who this actress is and what characteristics you associate with her. These may be the same characteristics that you need to acknowledge or incorporate into yourself. The dream may also be a pun on her name. Maybe you'd like to get to "KNOW[les] Beyonce better, heh heh heh.
Singing
To hear someone sing in your dream, signifies emotional and spiritual fulfillment. Your mood is changing for the positive as your outlook in life is looking up.

I don't want to quote the whole thing, but that was an interesting dream you had up there, auntblabby. :)

Last night, I dreamt that a couple of people and I were hiding from some other person or people, so we kept running further and further away from them, hoping to lose them in an untraceable maze. We did this by opening the tops of people's heads and climbing inside. Amazingly, this was easily accomplished and hurt no one in the process. Once we got into a person's head, the world inside there was just like the previous one, except in different places with different people. We would then run off and find another random person, open their head, and do it again.

i dreamt i was in a weird kind of reality show, a cinema verite documentary about these two gay guys, one a ruddy-complected muscleman with a shock of wild red hair [like the comedian Carrot Top], and the other a cerebral albino with floppy white hair and pink eyes, a lot like the late Andy Warhol. anyways, they had a bedroom decked out in pink and red velour, with many gold-trimmed pink pillows and 2 gold birdcages above each side of the bed, each containing [one each] a blue-headed conyer and a red-headed conyer. beneath each roost was a sign plastered on the wall above the bed headboard, the left sign reading "tweeky" and the right sign reading "twawnky."
anyways, i followed them around with a hidden camera, as they did their work througout the day. they were private detectives, so they encountered some seedy folk. after they got home at the end of the day, they had a small dinner and argued about petty things, then they kissed and made up, and went to bed, and when they kissed each other good night, they turned and looked at me with disgust and threw pillows at me until i walked away and awoke from the dream. a weird one, if i might say so myself.

Not for some years, but yes. I've long been a John Malkovich fan. :) I'm not familiar with "Head," though. And it was an interesting dream. It's unusual that I have dreams which are very fantastic or bizarre (zombies and demons excluded), so it was neat.

As for your latest one, all I can say is that you seem to have a lot of very elaborate and bizarre dreams. What a rich dream life you have. ^_^

Thanks auntie! A real mixed bag there.

I've never really wanted to know Beyonce in a biblical sense, but I do think she's got a fantastic voice.

First I dreamt that I was at home alone, and several robbers came to burgle us and kept me as a hostage in my parents closet. Then my step-sister came home not knowing they were inside, and then my sister magically appeared out of nowhere and we were sitting on my parent's bed (by this time it wasn't actually my house, but some house that was kind of like it, except it was in a sunny state like California or Florida. Very frequently my dreams start out in a real place, but then warp into some fantasy thing. Does this mean anything?). But then later they left, so I walked around a house that was partly similar to mine, and everything was there, like I had a dream in my dream but didn't realize it in my dream.

Then I woke up, and fell asleep again, and this time I was Sam Fisher sneaking around this tower building in a snowy place killing bad guys. 8) First it started out as real in daylight, like I was Sam Fisher (you know, Splinter Cell, by Tom Clancy), but then it turned into me playing a video game, this time at night. I have had many dreams like this, that is it starts out as real, then it turns into me playing a video game. I think I've also had dreams where it's switched around, starting as a video game and becoming real. This has to mean something.

When I began lucid dreaming, my mind started presenting dreams in the form of video games. I think that this is because a game is like an image that you control, and my mind found that a useful analog for dream control.

It could be just that you play a lot of video games so you dream about them a lot, but next time you catch yourself video gaming in a dream, try controlling the action as you will.

I have not once in my life had a lucid dream, so I don't think that's it, although I do play video games a lot. :P But it's not always a video game-type dream, I also have dreams where it starts out real, but then is warped in some ways to represent what's real, but not actually the real thing, like starting out in my actual house, then it morphing to a representation of my house. This happens a lot. Mostly waiting for what auntblabby has to say, he seems good at this stuff. ;)

gosh :o thanx :D i am flattered that you think highly of my public dream musings. i can assure you i have no special talent in this regard, but indeed rely on the collective expertise of the contributors to www.dreammoods.com which is where i get my dream symbology information from. you can do this as well. granted, these descriptions are generic and need to be tailered to the circumstances of particular dreams. but since you asked for my input, here is a description of your dream keywords, with limited interpretation, below-

Burglar
To see or dream that you are a burglar, indicates that your energy is being sucked away from you. You are feeling drained. It may also mean that your fears, guilt, and anxieties are making it hard for you to say no to others.
Burglary
To dream that you have been burglarized, indicates that you are feeling violated or that personal space has been invaded. You feel helpless in some situation or relationship. This could be due to a major change in your life. Give yourself some time to adjust to your new environment. The dream may also occur as a result of being burglarized in real life and a symptom of post traumatic stress.
Home
To see your home in your dream, signifies security, basic needs, and values. You may be feeling at "home" or settled at your new job or environment. Alternatively, the dream represents your basic needs and priorities. In particular, to see your childhood home, your hometown, or a home that you previously lived in, indicates your own desires for building a family and your family ideologies. It also reflects aspects of yourself that were prominent or developed during the time you lived in that home. You may experience some unfinished feelings that are being triggered by some waking situation. Alternatively, the dream may represent your outdated thinking.
Hostage
To dream that you are a hostage, indicates that you are feeling victimized or powerless. You feel limited in your choices or physically immobilized. Perhaps this dream is paralleling some situation/difficulties in your daily life or relationship. Alternatively, to dream that you are a hostage suggests that a part of yourself is not fully expressed.
Parents
To see something belonging to your parents in your dream, symbolize both power, shelter, and love. it represents the merging of the female and male aspects of your character.
Closet
To see a closet in your dream, symbolizes something in your life that you have kept hidden. It may also signify an unveiling of previously hidden aspects of yourself. The fact that it is your parent's closet at home could mean you have something about yourself that you are of mixed emotions if your parents should find out about it. To dream that you are hiding in a closet from burglars, could mean that you are fearful of secrets being divulged outside of your control, until you reach the point when you good and ready to divulge them.
Sister
To see your sister/step-sister in your dream, symbolizes some aspect of your relationship with her, whether it one of sibling rivalry, nurturance, protectiveness, etc. Your sister may draw attention to your family role. Or the dream may also serve to remind you that someone in your waking life has similar characteristics. Alternatively, your sister may be a metaphor for a holy person in a cloistered environment. In this case, she may represent some spiritual issues.
Bed
To see your bed in your dream, represents your intimate self and discovery of your sexuality. If you are sitting on your parents' bed, then it denotes security and love. You may be looking for domestic bliss, for peace or for some form of escape or refuge from the demands of adult living. Consider the condition of the bed- if the bed is made, then it symbolizes security. But if the bed is unmade, then it indicates that certain secrets will soon be exposed or revealed.
Sunshine
To dream of sunshine [or living in a sunny place like the golden state, indicates that you are experiencing some sort of emotional or situational breakthrough, or hope for same. The dream is offering you reassurance that you are headed on the right track. The sudden switch to a sunnier place [for your dreams in general] could also mean you are hoping for a reset in your lifetime, to get out of what you may think presently is a rut, and to segue into a new life with a bigger helping of fame and fortune.
Tower
To see a tower in your dream, signifies high hopes and aspirations. If you are traversing the tower, then it indicates that you would like to be higher-status in waking life. Alternatively, a tower symbolizes the phallus, and is an expression of the wish to be the "big" man on campus, so to speak, and the big man of your life, capably dealing with your life issues and ascending the hierarchy of self-fulfilment.
Snow
To see snow in your dream, signifies your inhibitions, unexpressed emotions and feelings of frigidity. You need to release and express these emotions and inhibitions. Alternatively, snow means that you are feeling indifferent, alone and neglected.
To dream that you are playing in the snow, indicates that you need to set some time for fun and relaxation. Alternatively, the dream means that you need to take advantage of opportunities that arise; otherwise such opportunities will disappear. To dream of chasing and dispatching bad guys in the snow, means you are trying to kill-off undesirable aspects of yourself, and/or are trying to summon courage in your waking life to better face your problems and improve your life.
Day
To dream of a sunny day, symbolizes clarity and/or pleasantness. You are seeing things clearly. You are seeing [the dream is showing you] things the way you would like them to be, in your waking life.
Night
To have a dream that takes place at night, represents some major setbacks and obstacles in achieving your goals. You are being faced with an issue that is not so clear cut. Perhaps, you should put the issues aside so you can clear your head and come back to it later. Alternatively, night may be synonymous with death, rebirth, reflection, and new beginnings.
Video Game
To dream that you are playing a video game, represents your ability to manipulate others into doing what you want them to do. Alternatively, playing video games suggests that you are trying to escape from the problems in your real life, instead of confronting it. Consider the type of video game for additional insights.
To see or dream that you are a character in a movie, suggests that you are feeling controlled and manipulated by others. You feel that you have no control over your actions or are not taking responsibility for them. The switching between videogame and [dream] "reality" [as well as daytime and nighttime] indicates your subconscious mind is hinting at you, that you need to buckle down and face your waking problems with grit, with determination.
Hero
To dream that you are a hero of a movie or videogame, signifies your inner strength and weaknesses. The dream refers to your ability, determination and level of confidence. You are determined to have the power to bravely face the secrets of your unconscious and confront life's challenges, and surmount them.
Dreams
To dream that you are dreaming, signifies your emotional state. You are excessively worried and fearful about a situation or circumstance that you are going through.
Recurring Dream
To have recurring dreams, indicate unresolved issues, unhealthy behavior patterns, or unexpressed emotions in your waking life.

i hope this was useful to you.

Thanks, a lot of those were helpful. :) Many of them make sense and are correct: burglary, hostage, closet, sunshine (about wanting a "reset"), tower, snow, night, video game, dreams, recurring dream. Much (dis)stress has been caused because of my Asperger's, although I'm not sad/depressed anymore.

i dreamt i was back in my childhood neighborhood, in a rural outskirt of town, on a street that turned into a dirt road which was the pathway to several private driveways deep in the woods. anyways, i was watching two yellowjackets make a nest in the ground [uncharacteristic for them but it was after all only a dream] and worrying about getting stung. [i have a waking phobia of bees, btw]
more bees were starting to accumulate so i decided i had to get the hell outta there and fast, but something [i don't know what, i guess it was just a wild hare, so to speak] made me decide instead to proactively do away with the nest and the bees therein before they became a future threat to me. so i took advantage of a gardening shovel which suddenly materialized out of thin air, and scooped up some dirt and dumped it over the budding nest, then i tamped the shovel on top of the dirt mound i just created, then stomped on it with my feet. suddenly the earth gave way and there was this big deep hole which turned with alarming alacrity into an abyss, with no bottom in sight until the dust cleared, at which point i saw the dimly lit basement of a building, with short-nap aquamarine carpeting, beige linoleum floor tiles highly polished, hospital green walls with metal-framed photographs hanging every few feet, and corridors stretching off into the distance. there was a middle-aged bald fella dressed in a sailor suit [dockers, white bellbottomed dungarees, light blue windbreaker] who stared back up at me from down there.

then i looked up from there and found my woodsy environs replaced by my old army barracks behind me, out of my direct vision, and in front of me was the upper story of a small office building, with a large continuous bank of eve windows facing the fair blue sky above, overlooking a large office suite filled with people sitting behind rows of desks, all busy doing some kid of office work. my attention was drawn to a beautiful dark-skinned lady in a blue-checkered gingham dress, crying and wiping her eyes with a kleenex- she looked back at me and wailed "nobody likes me! i have NO friends here!" so i took her hand and told her, "babe, i'd be your friend if only you'd have me." she then smiled at me, at which point i awoke from the dream.

I had a recurring dream again, about being back in a normal, public high school (as opposed to doing school online like I currently do). The only part I remember was being in an English class (which is by far my most hated class) and not being able to decide where to sit down, since people were everywhere and I wanted to be alone. What's strange is that in my dreams about school, there are almost always people I actually knew from school, but also people I do not know at all.

After that dream I dreamt that I was moving to a new house... on the moon! It was a pretty awesome dream, although really short. Awesome because I went outside and saw Earth (although it was much larger than it would be if one was on the moon) and it was beautiful. Also, I tried walking out to these stairs that went back towards the house to some one-story structure, so I could see Earth better, but almost didn't realize that I walked out of the force field that kept all the air in and was suffocating to death. If this dream doesn't mean that I want to get out of here and start a new life than I don't know what will. :P
