-Not long ago I heard about some stupid trend where people swallow a spoonful of cinnamon without water. Ground cinnamon may seem harmless, but people have actually died from sucking it down their windpipe. I even once watched an episode of Untold Stories Of The ER where these two teen girls got really sick and nearly died because they had been swallowing it. One of the girls even had asthma for cripes sake, but she did it anyway because she was dared to. Do teens really think they're that immortal?
-And then there was that kid who took a package of Rockets (those little round candy discs that come rolled in a clear wrapper), ground them up into a powder, twisted the ends of the wrapper up so it looked like a joint and then "smoked" the candy. And he made a video of it. And he appeared on Dr. Phil along with his parents who told him that inhaling powdered candy would not make him high, he could damage his breathing passages, and that what he did was pretty stupid but the kid got his few minutes of "fame", so whatever.
-Just a few minutes ago I saw an anti-smoking PSA on Youtube that showed pictures of celebs smoking (likely taken by paparazzi), saying how the tobacco companies get "free advertisement" and influence your kids to smoke. So if they don't want kids to see pictures of famous people smoking because they'll think it's "cool", why are they showing them on a PSA in the first place? But that wasn't nearly as stupid as the many replies that defended a person's "right" to smoke (so non-smokers like me don't have rights, I guess) or actually thought smoking was cool. Yeah nothing says cool like having stained teeth and fingers that look like they were dipped in liquid feces. I thought young NT people were extremely concerned about their superficial appearance.
