Should our personification (Uncle Sam etc.) be the WrongPlanet alien? I tried to think of a humanoid personification that fits but that little guy has been staring at me while I think.

I want to take our Sumatran Winged Poodle to the place where a friend works. She has a pet peeve about people bringing in unmanagable or dangerous dogs. Last week she was complaining about someone bringing in a half-wolf. lol

Aspia will be a matriarchal society, so the personification would probably be feminine and made up. Something like 'Six of Nine Wants You!', etc.

Miss Aspia? Are you crazy? Do you want to tear the new country apart? Partisan Aspies make English soccer fans look like pansies in comparison.

I hereby found the Republican Party of Aspia.

The Aspia GOP are having a public debate where the candidates in the upcoming Aspia General Elections can present themselves.

The Aspia GOP asks:

Can you please introduce yourself and your political platform, and why do you want to become the Presidential Nominee for the Aspia Republican Party?

Hmmm... "Miss Aspia" and now this....

I will explain something. We should not take the known divisive aspects of the old world into our new world. Even if it's just a rented meeting hall in New Jersey.

So things like the Republican and Democratic party are illegal. I hope you are not too disappointed.

You can join the Revolutionary Provisonal People's Aspian Party's 'Happy Youth for Forward Victory' club.

NO!

The Transitional Democratic League of the Aspie Republic of Aspia condemns this hateful ideology.

Will the uniforms be purple?
With embroidered echidna on the jacket lapels!
Will the hats have feathers, or impressive shiny black top hats like President Lincoln wore?
Maybe cowboy boots?
The kids will not want to go camping and sleep in tents, so I suggest weekend trips to the library, and merit badges for computer gaming......

Well, Aspia isn't built in a day you know, but we did the best we could on the uniforms. There were no true purple uniforms available online, so we settled for this poor quality blue that sometimes fades to a fairly decent violet color.

This btw is the elite Aspian Seal Team 6.1 training with our new super advanced assault muskets in a secret location.

What are you talking about ? The greedy Republicans and Democrats have taken all the meaningful hateful ideology. I don't see anything left except small-change stuff like discriminating against Stamp Collectors.

Besides Aspia has no Idealogy. Aspia needs no Idealogy.

But we do have an Aspian National Anthem!

Our lovely daughters near.
Our singing sons appear,
May Fortune smiling here
Grace Aspia!

I highly suggest you start to sing this 3 times every morning. Let it be the first thing you do after you wake up. In time, your radical extremism may fade and you may take your place as a true Singing Son of Aspia!

The uniforms:
Simply breathtaking in their perfection!

Stamp collecting MAY be considered as the National Sport.
Of course, the coin collectors would be unhappy about that decision....

Let's not even think about what would happen if the Anime' Collectors felt overlooked; talk about indignant!

Actually, we have some ardent and knowledgeable gun collectors here on WP.....

What do y'all think our National Sport should be?
Which is not at all the same thing as a National Pastime.

I am picturing yappy Chihuahuas, super-paranoid Dobermans, and manic Jack Russels, all having howling fits the minute you land in the parking lot, dismount, and try to drag your Pterodactyl into the Doggie Salon!

I bet they try to charge you extra!

I respectfully dispute the assertion that Chihuahuas are yappy. I only have two half-Chihuahuas it is true, but both are identical in this way: Under normal circumstances they literally never bark. Never. Chihuahuas are one of the older breeds, being traceable back to the Aztecs in the 1400's. Recent study links them possibly to an even earlier Mayan dog known to be shorthaired (or hairless) and speechless.

Mine only bark when they see or hear strangers or animals approaching our territory. But that would give you the impression that they are yappy, for any Chuhuahua that doesn't know you well will bark at you on sight.

Mine have this awesome guys coloration and do look a little like this when angry.

Dear ToySoldier, Congratulations on your excellent taste in dogs!
Mine is a Chiweenie, her name is Sugar, and her speech patterns are quite as you describe.
I have seen and heard Purebred Chihuahuas however, who are temperamental, shaky, and yappy, though an awful lot of personality can be affected or caused by the owner. That is any breed.
I think the dogs you refer to are the Xoloitzcuintli or possibly the Inca Orchid?
My comments were to portray the worst-behaving dogs in an excitable situation and watch and rather enjoy the ensuing hysteria.
And videotape it all for future entertainment.... :D

Purely for appearance alone, I would submit the Chinese Crested for National Dog...

Dear Sylkat,
Thankyou. :) Your probably right about the Inca's and such. I was working off memory and always get my Mayans & Aztecs mixed up.

What mix is a Chiweenie ?

Apologies to all for veering off topic

Dear ToySoldier, I get confused between the Mixtecs and Olmecs and Aztecs, and where the ancient cultures of Peru and surrounding areas are concerned, I am lost.
Fascinated, but lost.
Look into the Aramu Maru Gate sometime. And Tiwanaku, and Puma Punku!
Anyhow, Chiweenies are Chihuahua/Miniature Dachshund mixes, little, sturdy, healthy, great personalities, seem to reflect the best of both breeds. Mine is 'Sugar', she is twelve, I am her sixth owner, two years now, and she is a delight!
Perhaps the 'Growly Face Chihuahua' you posted could be used as the avatar on the website for Our Department of War.
Or their letterheads?

I will look into those, though from the name I am not sure what I am looking into exactly. I would guess they are archiological sites ? Those I love but am not familiar with in South America.

Our 2nd dog may be a Chihuahua - Mini Dachshund mix. She was a rescue dog, and we are only certain she has lots of Chihuahua. Our first is a Taco Terrier (or called Chitoxy in Europe) Chihuahua - Toy Fox Terrier mix. They both have black-white coloring like the one above.

I think the Chihuahua would be a great symbol of Aspia in general. Small to reflect our minority and tendency of the bigger to pick on. Mentality touchy if not unstable but firecely loyal to the ones closest to them. Capable of almost psychotic aggression against anything, even against that which they have no chance. (One guy who trains Chihuahuas for movies and TVs only uses rescue dogs. His current star was a abandoned stray he found in the streets of Los Angeles attacking the wheels of a moving 18-Wheel Tractor Trailer. ) Oh yeah, and one more thing. They have the biggest brain to body ratio of any dog and are quite intelligent (excepting psyschotic episodes).

But because we are probably biased, I would be happy with it just being our military mascot/symbol.
