Had a few drinks at the beach yesterday and a late night beer. Got a short sleep and did some work today and don't even feel like drinking anything but water this eve.
One of my friends said he’s giving alcohol a miss for a few weeks. I drink beer once a week.
I feel a bit guilty now
The only bad part is that it sounds like you drink quite a few pints once a week (binge drink) vs. just have a couple.
Meanwhile, I've been drinking alcohol nearly every evening for months and months, there's literally only a handful of days where I didn't have at least one drink. To me that's creeping up to being way too much. I'm still almost Always legal to drive, buuuut, the compound effect of 1-3 drinks/day murdering gut flora and other tissues/organs etc is just silly and counterproductive and I know I need/want to drink less.
I think getting back to physical work, working out, and jogging is going to really be the biggest thing to reduce my drinking. After being physical I basically just want to eat healthy food and drink water and sleep - a proper balanced routine. At least it's quite rare that I crave having a drink, extremely rare. I don't have a physical dependency on alcohol or anything crazy like that and can just as easily not pour a drink - I've just quite enjoyed having an ounce or two. But the cycle has run it's course and it's time for me to slow down the drinking to a snail's pace and get strong, productive, and healthy again so I have the capacity to work on other goals vs. the "lazy buzz," of a couple drinks. (At least small amounts of alcohol doesn't give me a groggy hangover like weed + munchies do!)
All that said, I might have a drink or two tonight IF I'm gonna hangout with a certain person and it's socially ideal for me, otherwise I'll refrain and just have water.
