I want more cake, and I'm knitting with a pair of color pencils. I may or may not be at least 1/4 angry.

That's great that it's working for you. My neurologist keeps throwing anti-convulsants at me but you have to take them continuously and the side effects are a bunch of crap that I already deal with. I have yet to try a painkiller that actually dulls pain.

...there's always marijuana.

Which ironically, has only ever given me a migraine and has never actually gotten me high.

What sort of side effects do you get?

Image

The most common ones are fatigue and extreme brain fog...and I've got enough of those already courtesy of other pre-existing conditions.

Yeah, medications can have dreadful side effects. I remember the first time I took Anafranil, it felt like my brain was on fire. I was practically climbing the walls and almost panicky. I was so restless, I couldn't sit still.

The second time I tried it in hospital, it was different. Scary stuff. The Fluoxetine doesn't seem to have too many bad side effects and it seems to really help with the depression.

I'm only about six hours away, I've been there it's very cool. Plus I live in southern Colorado so I get mainly New Mexico radio, tv, etc, and they're always showing cool pictures of Carlsbad...it's the only thing worth seeing in New Mexico tbh.

What about Bandelier National Monument? That looks pretty cool.

No need, I live 30 minutes away from Mesa Verde, which is like 10x bigger and 10x badder.

Ah, makes sense!

How was your day?

I went to work despite still having the migraine but they sent me home and told me to go to the hospital.
I told them what the doctor said on Thursday (that he thought I had meningitis). As it turns out, I don't. It's just a week long migraine and photophobia.

They said they had a 'duty of care'. I understand that but I can't afford to be off work any more. I've got no sick leave left and I'm not being paid for the days I had off and I've got some big bills.

Do you have any long service leave?

4 days but you have to take in lots of 7 days. And get this. Weekends count as long service leave as well. That's a ripoff! So for every 7 days you have, you're really onl getting 5 days off work. :(

Can you apply to have your sick leave deficit rolled over?
I did that one year when I was really ill and used up all my sick leave.

That really sucks about the long service leave.

No there's not. Work does regular drug testing and if you're caught, it's instant dismissal!

Since you're into geological type things, I live in an area that is geologically unique to the world: A coniferous mountain forest that turns into an arid desert.

Yeah I take Diamox for pseudo-tumor cerebri and it's awful for side effects. You get nausea, bladder pain, really strong pins and needles and feelings of circulation being cut off all over your body, etc. That's the other reason I haven't toyed with the migraine meds, because the two kinds of headaches often happen together, so I'd really need to be taking both.

Yeah, I had to deal with that in the past when marijuana wasn't legal here. I never actually got tested but I always had me some fake urine on hand.

No but you can apply for up to 10 extra sick leave days with pay in cases like mine. I've just done that and it was approved but knowing how the Government works, the paperwork will take 6 months to go through :(

That sounds awesome! I've been to Colorado before (during that blizzard in 06? or 07?) , but I don't think I had the chance to see this. I'm about to go to bed but I'll have to look for pictures of this tomorrow.

Nah, they're onto that. They can tell. Also, or Department also does hair follicle and blood tests.

They also put blue dye in the cistern and tape it shut just to make sure you don't try to water it down.

I'm off to bed too, but I remember I'll take some pictures. I can see the mountains and the desert from my house.
