Ew, how would one even go about doing that? Like just go wander in a store for a while?

if you could hang around some of us here IRL, would you?

Yes, I think that has the potential to be interesting. Naturally, I'd probably be super awkward (at least initially).

Haha, no. More specifically, she said to go to a coffee house (but not some lame chain), bring my laptop, and just hang out.

Oh that would make sense, we only have starbucks around here though so like you said, not a real coffee house that people just go hang out at. Last summer and fall I kinda forced myself to go to the central campus park on nice days and sit on the steps of a building and read a book, hoping to maybe socialize with a kindred spirit. One or two people walking by spoke to me, looking for directions. :ninja: Worth a shot.

Gr it deleted my text. WP is extra buggy today. Attempt two:

Yeah, it never works out how I envision it. I had much better luck when I briefly took up smoking. For some reason this made me approachable and on occasion I'd even meet people who didn't annoy me  .
There needs to be some sort of kindred spirit magnet on the market. It would save a lot of time!

I know I shouldn't be jealous of my sister. I'm in my 40s now.

jealousy is a futile emotion, for the most part, in my experience.

^
^ Humans of all ages get jealous Cockney. I'd bet somewhere there is a 90 year old who is pretty envious of his roommate's fancy new walker. :P

My mum asked me why I bothered coming over to her place two weekends ago if I didn't want her in my space, being the futile shrink to me. I wish I would have told her that I come to feel accepted as a part of the Munro family, no matter how different I am from everybody else in the family. To let me have my Hogan's Heroes, the blue helmet and the German flag.

I wonder how life is up on that pedestal. Thinking about it now, I wouldn't want to be on a pedestal. That's something that a man does to a woman to woo her. Maybe it's best that I'm not wooed by my mum the way my sister is.
