Haha, no. More specifically, she said to go to a coffee house (but not some lame chain), bring my laptop, and just hang out.
Oh that would make sense, we only have starbucks around here though so like you said, not a real coffee house that people just go hang out at. Last summer and fall I kinda forced myself to go to the central campus park on nice days and sit on the steps of a building and read a book, hoping to maybe socialize with a kindred spirit. One or two people walking by spoke to me, looking for directions.
Worth a shot.

Yeah, it never works out how I envision it. I had much better luck when I briefly took up smoking. For some reason this made me approachable and on occasion I'd even meet people who didn't annoy me
.There needs to be some sort of kindred spirit magnet on the market. It would save a lot of time!
