Right when things were at their worst, a friend comes over for a movie and treats!

Pulled me back from the brink...

My cat left a 'gift' of a tiny, black mouse on my steps, yesterday. I thought it was dead at first, but then noticed that it was breathing, so I put it in a box with some grass, oats and water, and made sure the cat couldn't get at it.

This morning the mouse was still sluggish/ragdoll, but as I looking it over for injuries it slowly started acting normally. I think it was playing dead the whole time.

So, I put it in the weeds near a wood pile in the orchard next door. So, the mouse gets to live another day (and possibly be captured by a horrible, fanged monster again).

I made more pumpkin soup. I can have it every day for the coming week or so.

On my way to the library I saw a car that struck me as amusing... It was a black smart car with orange flames airbrushed on the front end

Also, the tendons in my legs finally don't feel excruciating when I walk... I walked/hiked about 22 miles on Monday to run an errand, and my legs had been threatening to give out on me all week >_>

Managed to pass my contact lens-wearing teaching session, so got a free trial of lenses. Also recorded a couple of my songs and got them pretty much memorised. They sounded okay.

I have all afternoon to sit here drinking tea and writing.

I can even kind of see the sun now. You go, Minnesota! Make sure all that May snow is gone!

I was happy today to be able to go to the grocery store.

My car broke down a few weeks ago and it has taken me that long to work out alternative personal transportation. I am happy to again have a re-stocked pantry and refrigerator.
