I hate when people discuss the theory of evolution and suggest it's not a fact because it's just a "theory". A 'theory' and a 'Scientific Theory' are very different.

A scientific theory has to be testable, which the theory of evolution is. It's testable, and there has been no way to prove it false, ergo it's our best guess as to what is true.

I don't know what to say to "I do not believe it because it doesn't confirm my current beliefs". If you're given a math question and asked to solve for 'x', you guess that x = 1 but when you solve it the answer is x = 2, you cannot dismiss the answer because it disagrees with your guess.

I do not believe in math, because it does not support my current beliefs.

I dont "believe in" anything as i dont think what I believe has any bearing on what actually is the case. But I feel that there is a God, and I feel that evolution is likely the process God used to create us.

Brain cells lie to me all the time but on this subject my vote goes to the natural evolution of life on this planet. :/

Theory

–noun, plural -ries.
1.
a coherent group of general propositions used as principles of explanation for a class of phenomena: Einstein's theory of relativity.

The theory of evolution explains how the FACT of evolution works. I don't BELIEVE in facts, I ACCEPT them. Belief is for superstitious ideas that require faith. Acceptance is for ideas that have been proven to be true with concrete evidence. The THEORY of evolution is what I'm shaky on, as our understanding of it keeps evolving, itself.

I do. I grew up learning science and evolution in schools with no issue. I went to church and Sunday school as a kid, but we never discussed science. (btw, I like learning about religious history but I am not spiritual; completely incapable) I'm aware that evolution is a theory, but by looking at older to present species there are similarities between them.

I don't, because of other reasons.

I don't tend to believe things, I reason them.
