So we've got a national bird (box turtle), national flower (dandelion), and a miltary mascot (Chihuahua), and an anthem; what's next?

A Disease. Any country worth its salt has its own disease. Its up for grabs I'd say, but African River Blindness is a personnel favorite.

I am picturing yappy Chihuahuas, super-paranoid Dobermans, and manic Jack Russels, all having howling fits the minute you land in the parking lot, dismount, and try to drag your Pterodactyl into the Doggie Salon!

I bet they try to charge you extra!

I respectfully dispute the assertion that Chihuahuas are yappy. I only have two half-Chihuahuas it is true, but both are identical in this way: Under normal circumstances they literally never bark. Never. Chihuahuas are one of the older breeds, being traceable back to the Aztecs in the 1400's. Recent study links them possibly to an even earlier Mayan dog known to be shorthaired (or hairless) and speechless.

Mine only bark when they see or hear strangers or animals approaching our territory. But that would give you the impression that they are yappy, for any Chuhuahua that doesn't know you well will bark at you on sight.

Mine have this awesome guys coloration and do look a little like this when angry.

DAMN!! !!

That pic is scarier than the creature in the movie "Alien"!

Im gonna have nightmares for weeks now!

Actually I am not sure. And the little reading I have done on it hasn't really cleared that question up much for me. They seem to call it a disorder, and catagorize it as being distinct from a disease. But I have gathered that while they have a fair understanding of symtoms, they do not yet have the causes really defined yet and so there is some debate on it.

But oh yes, the little fellow in the pic! He's a real charmer. Actually he was a very abused rescue dog that is now in a new home with a very patient older woman. He apparently was a real challenge but is making slow steady progress. Chihuahuas are just amazing dogs to me. They are literally the world's smallest dogs and contrary to what many think are not 'Ratters', that is bred to eliminate rodents. They are among the worlds oldest 'Companion Dogs', bred to simply be that a persons companion. Their temperment really varies, but ususally are protective and some can have this insane agressiveness. But it is for the most part all show, for they are born into a world where every dog, and nearly every thing is bigger then them. Its kind of like they use psychological warfare, and it can work really well. I find them both admirable and humorous. My own have this guys coloring and their nutty fierceness is always cracking me up.

Autism and Aspergers are NOT diseases. I had to explain this to a younger sibling: a disease is something you catch, like a cold or the flu. It is also not good for you to catch. A disorder is something your DNA creates, and is not nessessarily harmful.

Warning: I am very passionate about this subject and will continue to argue even if I'm losing the battle.

(Attempting to switch subject) Who likes brownies? :chef:

Well I think we found our Minister of Public Health! :D

No arguments from me HBD. Its an area I am mostly certainly not well informed in. My thoughts on it change with new info, but the most current was that there most probably is a DNA link, but I remain unsure about some of the causes and the question on whether it is on the increase or not has me confused. I do not mind whatever you might say to correct my misconceptions. Better understanding is a good thing. And it lends some authenticity to this bizarre story about Aspia!

Brownies? Well I do, but... Can we use them in some way for the good of the Revolution ?

That spells Wwseuraiisc! The ancient, secret and sacred word of Autistics from the beginning of time! But they forgot to write down the meaning so we are kind of hosed.

That is the real name of Asperger's.
Hans Asperger discovered four little boys with the signs or symptoms, and gave the condition or disorder or 'interesting state of being' his name.
But the true term for our exceptional selves is Wwseuraiisc.
Only NTs have trouble pronouncing it.

Sylkat.

If the word was from the beginning of time, who knows what the rules for spelling were back then.

Well, the earliest known Aspie writings were some comic books found preserved....

(turns his head and says Oh No!! !! Molly/Scarlett has gotten my pillow again and has torn a good portion of it into little popcorn size pieces that cover half the living room floor)

...found preserved in greek amphora (Those pottery wine containers with pointy bases) buried in the ruins of the ancient city of Bigmessos in what is now modern Turkey. A fragment of what appears to be an Aspian Lexicon is preserved. Unfortunately only the words and not the definations portion is intact

The portions of the comic scrolls containing the definitions were taken as trophies and displayed in the throne room of the conquerors, the HyperboringOnes.

Apologies to the late, great Robert E. Howard. No offence intended to his work.

However, those areas will only be allowed to speak Gaelic.

Or the language spoken in Mohenjo Daro.
