It’s one of the least flavourful beers in the world. It’s fine cold, not the greatest at room temp. It’s nice that it’s made of rice and therefor gluten free for people who are very sensitive to gluten.
It’s probably around $7-8 for a pint in a pub these days, being one of the cheaper mainstream American beers sold here. More like $12 (cdn) for craft brew + tax and tip and it’s like $15 for a pint in a pub. $10 for a very basic one like Budweiser.
It’s average lager price in the liquor store, around $2 a can or so.
Some of the flavoured versions of bud light I’ve tried actually taste pretty good for a mass produced beer, but I never go out of my way to buy them or anything - only tried a couple when they were on sale. Way too many other options available.

Typically only for their table/friend group, not for the bar. At $10-15 per drink it’s a fast way to spend a Lot of money. I think inflation and the erosion of disposable income/purchasing power has been the biggest killer of that tradition.

Seems a bit strange to have never had gin before. There are many variations in flavourings, but most have common ingredients so are similar. But there are certainly many made with different botanicals that come out tasting distinctly different from more traditional/common flavourings.. so, if you try one of those and don't particularly care for it, you might think you don't like gin but maybe you just didn't like That gin.
Not sure what's to fear about it. It's the same standard alcohol content vodka or rum or whiskey etc, 40% abv. Just flavoured differently.
Personally, of all the common bigger brands, I like Bombay Sapphire. People that don't like Bombay prrrroooooobbably simple don't like the flavour of gin in general, as it's a pretty traditional recipe And is considered a bit of a "premium," brand.

I like having a variety and switching things up. Mostly drink spirits neat, so actually enjoy the flavour of them. I can measure just fine so I can keep my alcohol consumption the same as if I had a beer or two.
