I remember in kindergarten our French teacher would tell us in French "Stand up" or "Sit down" and then go so fast we had to hurry to stand up or sit down, and it was fun, we had to keep up with it and not get confused.

I've also played Duck Duck Goose; Knights, Horses and Cavaliers; Larry, Curly and Moe; tag; hide-and-go-seek tag; frozen tag; capture the flag; TV tag; "poison snake" with a jump rope; red rover; soccer; charades; house; school; having-a-baby; doctor; ring-around-the-rosie; Mother May I; What Time Is It, Mr Wolf?; Champ; Four Corners; 1-legged races; and other games.

In class we did spelling bees and a similar one for math too...

I remember playing made up, roleplaying games on the playground like "sirens." Flashlight tag was always fun too.

From all games I used to play being in kindergarten I remember only "Black boot" but I have no idea under what name it may be known in your countries.

We played 7-up in class too, and sometimes it had other names... we played "black shoe" on the schoolyard, and hand games like "Strawberries strawberries on a date, how many babies will they make?" and "Cherries, cherries, getting married, what do you think his name was?" We played the cat and mouse game with the parachute, and once at a camp I went to we played this water-balloon-finding game where there were two teams, this other game where they gave us a card and we had to sneak from one end of the camp to the other without getting caught by the counselors who were "your mama's spies", and you had to get to the dining hall where this party your mama doesn't want you to go to, and present a fake ID card to get in... once you got caught your ID card was taken away and you had to go all the way back down to get another one and start over... it was fun! We also played this game where there were 2 or groups of people... one group was given a "cop's badge" that they hid, and the other group nothing, as they were drug dealers... the people asked each other if they wanted to trade and then the cops would show their badge if the person said "sure", and if that person didn't show their badge they weren't a cop and were arrested... I forget how you got out of jail and rejoined the game... I think there was another gorup of people who did something too, to make it more complicated...

Capture the flag! I love that game, because I'm not usually athletic or competitive, but for some reason I was always really good at protecting the flag. That was always my job.

Sometimes we'd play on school camp-outs, which was the best, because it would be night-time in the forest, and I'd stand there alone with the flag, half spooked out to be in the dark, but also excited to try to find somebody and tag them before they could get the flag...I was good too, haha.

We also played Mafia in a circle; that was pretty fun. We played store at daycamp, and in the schoolyard we played this game where we pretended to be preparing for a tornado... we also played "Titanic" (pretending to be on the Titanic) and pretended we were 16-year-olds, and stuff like that.

Oh, that Titanic post reminds me of when my friend and I used watch Titanic without sound and do voices for the action. That was great fun.
