med sharing programs?

I have lots of Effexor 75 mg left and it would be a shame to flush them when they are so expensive. I was thinking about donating them. Are you aware of any programs out there that accept donations of new prescriptions that aren't being used anymore?

For the record, I am aware I may be side-stepping some Federal laws here but if they have a sript, I don't see a problem.

Heee! I used to be on Adderall..and if anyone has any of that bad bad stuff lying around, I'd gladly take it off their hands...I don't have a script..because they have to renew the script each time...I do have an old medicine bottle though...as proof I used to be on it....so stinking expensive...

You could take them along to a pharmacy and see. Most pharmacies take unwanted medicines back, I think they destroy them most of the time though.

I don't want them destroyed. If I wanted them destroyed, I'd flush them. I know there are countless people out there who can't afford them. That's why I want to donate them.

I'm curious to know how many PM's you'll get from people willing to buy them off you.

Take them to your local drug exchange (local university campus)

suggestion? don't flush them, as that puts them in the water supply. there are other living things that depend on that water. if you cannot use them and cannot find someone who will take them, please wrap them securely and put them in a trash bin where the trash is collected and taken to a sanitary landfill where it will be buried in a safe manner.

ps - yes, as i understand it, giving someone a controlled medication if you are not a licensed pharmacist is against the law. whether they have a prescription or not. so, if you do it, do it quietly.

A friend of mine fills the bottle of pills with water, shakes it up, and then discards it with her regular garbage. She also removes the label, before discarding it.

Take them back to the pharmacy for proper destruction.
